I need help to understand who genesis was written by (argument that doesn’t make sense for Moses to have written…how could he have known). Also lost books of the bible and the argument that bible made up of series of human decisions about what can and cant be included.
I’ve been researching but quite new and either stuff is too simplistic and not answering the arguments or far to complicated and I’m not understanding it.
The author is anonymous, just like many other books in the Bible, including the gospels.
Moses did write Genesis – Jesus told us that he did. As for how he knew stuff that preceded his time, it was likely passed down through verbal tradition; after all, ancient cultures passed down a lot of history and tradition verbally. Also don’t forget that Moses wrote what he did under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, so what we have in Genesis is not merely the word of a man (Moses), but more importantly the very Word of God.
Moses could write it as it is inspired word of God, so God could just tell him what to write. Having said that I don’t know who wrote it

Moses spend 40 days and nights with God. Possibility 1 .God revealed the unknown that Moses later wrote. Possibility 2 God used to visit Adam, so what did they talk about besides names of animals. God could have still revealed to Adam how He created everything. Adam would then pass it down the generations.
You state the questions in such a manner that any answer given will be automatically rejected by you (outright rejection, to simple, to complicated, and you probably won’t understand it anyway).
It’s easier to do one question at a time without built in assumptions and conclusions attached to the question.

Can you name some of the “lost books” of the bible? I have a general idea of what you’re talking about but I need specifics.
The canon of the bible was not decided by any council or bishop. The later creeds and decisions on the bible (Athanasius, Council of Rome, etc) were simply affirming what had already been believed for several centuries. The church did not decide the canon. The church DISCOVERED the canon.
Any work that didn’t bear the marks of authority and consistency were rejected. Just read any Gnostic or Apocryphal book and you will immediately get the sense that it doesn’t belong in the canon.
Before the Great Flood people lived a long time so the story was told orally for many generations. It was preserved that way untill it was written.

Moses could have had some scribes or editor’s.

Nobody knows. It really predates any real record and the composition is multi-sourced.

Moses certainly existed as Moses was a type and shadow of Jesus
where does this idea of a person existing as a shadow of someone comes from Ann Smit? I have heard it mentioned several times but it does not make sense to me as everyone is unique and God wants us to be ourselves.
Types and shadows are very important in Scripture as the Old Testament is revealed in the New And the New Testament is concealed in the Old thus quite a mystery especially in these days but God gives Wisdom liberally if you ask Him
