There’s nothing as a greater sin before God, all have the same punishment as hell if not repented of.

If you talk of the unpardonable sin, I get you.

  10. Jefferson D. Thatcher says:

Think of it this way. There is no way to be forgiven without a Savior. If one rejects Jesus, ascribing His works (Holy Spirit is God) as being from the devil, this is what Jesus was talking about when He said all sin would be foriven but not the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, then, if you have no Savior, you cannot be forgiven. Ergo, “the unforgivable sin” is the worst. Sadly, Jesus paid the price for everyone, all we need do is exorcize the faith all men have been given and “choose” to believe Him.

What do you think the Bible spends the entirety of its text trying to cram into the heads of the reader?
Disobey (CORRECTION: Reject and not repent to) God, and your afterlife will NOT be pleasant.

  15. Philip Mathew says:

The real meaning of Sin is Missing the Goal, or Missing to understand the Image of God given within us.

When we are missing to Realize the Image/Identity of the Son of God within us, We are missing our Abundant Life God gracefully granted.

This Missing is the root of all other Missing too. ??

  18. Wynni Wagner says:

Our high view of ourselves. Putting ourselves over God and our neighbor. Pride and selfishness is poison. Jesus had more ” woe to you” to the religious people than the sinners. Why? Because the sinners knew what awful wretches they were, the pharisees thought so highly of themselves and had the appearance of righteousness, but Jesus knew their heart.

  19. Wynni Wagner says:

Satan had a high view of himself as well

  32. Neil Steven Lawrence says:

All sins are forgiven on the cross. Only one sin will not be forgiven man: the Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. (idolatry and unbelief are related to this sin)

All sins are not equal (the idea they are all equal is a misconception of many people).

The proof is they are not all punished equally.

People try to argue that it only takes one sin to be judged guilty of death; this is true but it does not make them all equal.

Since you are asking this question reguarding discernment on levels of sin, I will answer.

    Worst sins:
    1. Murdering a baby/child
(since they have the most potential for life)
    2. Murdering a person
    3. All forms of torture
    4. Rape
    5. Homosexual behavior
    6. Adultery
    7. Stealing
    8. Bearing false witness
    9. Dishonoring authority (father & mother)
    10. Coveting (ie. Socialism/Communism)

I already covered: no other gods; graven images; name of God in vain in my above statement.

I rated the sins in order of how much they hurt an individual; but the multiplied effect of any one sin can damage society.
