The great doctrine of regeneration.
That which is born of flesh is flesh, that which is born of spirit is spirit. You must be born again, or you cannot see the kingdom of heaven. You cannot make yourself be born again, it is from God.
Born-again means, re-adopted into the family of God.
The question is who born you again? It is offensive to some, and to some who realy tasted it, on bended knees praising God. The advocates of free will says self, the Gospel say it is a nupernatural work of God.

Here’s a good explanation.
Compare being born again in the spirit to the time you were born as a baby. When you were born, you had a hunger for milk. As you grew, your hunger increased. You no longer desired milk but solid food. As you advanced in age, you became as everyone else, sinful in everyway.
When the Holy Spirit entered you, your spirit (which has been dead) became alive again. You began to hunger for God’s word, and you began to hunger for communion with God. As you grew in the spirit, you no longer desired spiritual milk, but solid spiritual food. You began to seek His presence even more, you began to understand things you couldn’t before. As you continued to grow in the spirit, you developed godly desires. You developed a hatred for sin, and a love for righteousness.
