Lessons to be learned from the flood. They say it was a thousand year flood and that was pre history in south Louisiana. There might have been a few Indians a 1000 years ago but they would not have lost electricity nor would the flooded sewer lines threatened to poison them. The washing up of old car batteries and of coffins would not have been a bother, no worry about replacing housing and furniture. Most of the natives would have been agile enough to climb trees and even to live in them a few days until the water went down. It was pre COG but still I’d take today’s conditions if I had a choice.

an earthquake caused the Mississippi to reverse flow and the backed up waters formed Reelfoot lake and then reversed back leaving the lake behind. It is a beautiful sight for recreation, good fishing and good catfish!

Over time this flood will create a great industry and while many will go broke and stay that way others will become rich in the rebuilding process. Lumber companies from all over will prosper and the appliance makers of Cleveland, Tn. and China will go into overtime. Many will suffer PTS and others will pick up diseases from the shifting around of bacteria. What is the pastor to tell his flock? That God did it? That God permitted it? That God had nothing to do with it either way? That it is a mystery and that we should continue to live by faith?

I don’t think God had anything to do with this, I have a friend that lives there and from what she said a dam broke. The same thing with Katrina a levy broke. The Federal government had given LA the money to reinforce these levies and dams but the politicians pocketed the money.
