Reality Is Setting In, But for Who? :: By Dave Hubley

(There is a special message at the end of this article for those who might happen to read this and do not have Jesus in their life and are looking for peace and a way to better understand the present-day insanity and confusion.)

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Reality is defined as: “The quality or state of being real.”

An example of an opposite state might be called: Fantasy. Defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary: “The power or process of creating especially unrealistic or improbable mental images in response to psychological need.”

I believe a modern-day, often-heard term for this concept of fantasy is “Gaslighting,” and it involves intentional manipulation of someone’s perception of reality, making it difficult to distinguish truth from falsehood. (Man caused Climate Change, for example)

In the case of “gaslighting,” it is particularly egregious, as it indicates that the deception is purposeful and done with malice and pre-meditation.

It is evil. I think this meets the true definition of hatred. It also defines the spiritual condition of those who practice it:

“Let those who love the Lord hate evil” (Psalm 97:10a). Emphasis added by me.

Hence, those who practice it hate people and, therefore, by extension, also hate God.

This is the prevalent state of affairs here in the “worldly mainstream” of 2024, and it is so rampant and is employed so blatantly that it has become common to perpetrate these deceptions in the light of day.

In the spirit of Shakespeare’s Hamlet (thou dost protest too much), we are constantly bombarded with this narrative, and these engineered lies and deceptions are actually causing some to recognize them for what they are.

As a result, many people have become aware that there seems to be no source of modern-day access to news and events that can be trusted.

Many people, but not all.

There are increasing numbers of people who are becoming cognizant of the fact that there is an ancient but modern-day source of Truth that addresses the current state of the world, and they are waking up to its record of 100% accuracy.

It re-defines the word “reality” and advances it beyond the limitations of flawed human definition, to that of the Author of all Empirical Truth.

It confirms that the True meaning of reality is: “Truth from God’s perspective.”

This most ancient of textual proof is, in “Reality,” the only modern-day source of Trustworthy information:

It has been since the first scribe began his mission of recording every “Jot and Tittle.”

The Living Word of God, Jesus Christ, made this reality clear:

“For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18).

Every character, every Word, every already fulfilled prophecy, and every remaining prophecy, guided by the Holy Spirit and attested to by Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Loved or hated, believed or denied, it remains the only truly accurate source by which anyone who is willing can understand the signs of the times and the ways of the world.

When God defines Hope and when God defines Love, they are verbs and not empty utterances made by man and bandied about with reckless abandon or malicious intent.

Now to the crux of this article.

Who is this “Reality” setting in to, and who is it not?

Those who are willing to explore the Truth contained in God’s Word and accept its “Reality” find this Hope and Love as defined by God Himself and revealed in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Those who are not willing to humble themselves and seek the Truth of His Word will find that the Reality of His Word does not depend on whether any human believes it or refuses to: It simply is.

The God of the Bible is the only source of Prophetic Reality, and He makes that clear:

Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure'” (Isaiah 46:9-10).

In these two short and direct verses, God declares Himself to be the Author of all Truth and the Sovereign God of every aspect of His created Order and that His Will will be done. Here in 2024, it is, as we can plainly see, being done.

“He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Matthew 11:15)

Those who are willing can confirm these facts by examining the numerous, already fulfilled prophecies primarily related to the first Advent of Jesus Christ as the sacrificial Lamb of God, His long-foretold death, burial, and, most importantly, His resurrection from the dead. These are facts of history and are confirmed as such, not just by the written Word of God but even by numerous extra-biblical writings.

Other prophecies abound as well, so there is no shortage of proof that the Holy Spirit of God has provided. Only the Bible dares to declare “the end from the beginning.”

A reading of Matthew chapter 24 (v 1-14), Luke chapter 21 (v 5-10), and Mark chapter 13 (v 5-8) further confirm that the events we see unfolding every day worldwide were promised by Jesus to occur as indicators that God is preparing to bring to pass the closing out of human history at the “End of the Age.”

They are no longer “out there” somewhere in an ethereal future but are realities promised by God, who is using them as warning signs to wake people to reality according to His Sovereign will.

There is something that must be said here that cannot be ignored.

In order to properly understand God’s Word and the Realities contained within, one must be spiritually born again by personal repentance and by receiving Jesus Christ, and Him only, as Savior and Lord. (Please see the Special Message at the end of this article.)

For those who have thus far chosen to ignore the Truth of God’s Word, there is a strong message in the Book of Romans (Chapter 1:18-25) where, in His Mercy, God explains man’s dilemma due to his willful rebellion against Him.

Further, God offers a simple path for understanding the results of this rebellion.

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

And the clear understanding of the depths of His love fulfilled in Jesus Christ:

“But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

And He makes clear how anyone who is willing can be reconciled to Him.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

And, Jesus promises to anyone who will plumb the depths of His Word:

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life” (John 5:24). Emphasis added by me.

In addition to these things, there is a very sobering (even terrifying), passage of scripture directed to those who have refused to believe in God’s Truth but instead willfully choose to believe the lie.

“For this reason, God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth but took pleasure in wickedness” (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12).

Also, in His Righteousness, God has provided a sobering insight into the Reality of the ultimate end that must happen in order to bring about His promise to dwell with man in an eternity that will have no trace of sin, no pain, and no sorrow.

“Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out—those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment” (John 5:28-29).

The meaning of these verses is repeatedly confirmed throughout the scriptures so that people are “without excuse.”

Those who have done “good” are those who have repented and received Jesus.

Those who have done “evil” are those who have refused to repent and have rejected God’s Grace in Christ.

It is time to dust off that gracious gift that God has provided (or acquire one), the Bible: the key to eternal life, the revelation of the Living God, the very personal love letter that He has made sure has survived every attempt by evil men to obfuscate it.

While you are in your living years, I pray you will join with those who are seeing the Truth contained in the Bible and the Reality that the End of the Age, long promised, is “at the door.”

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.

And, what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
