   Jesus clearly identified these people and said they are “NOT his sheep”. Therefore they COULDN’T have been chosen before the foundation of the world. Agreed??

   Then why just 10 seconds later does he tell these people who are NOT his sheep, that they can BECOME his sheep??

   Jesus said in john 10.25-26, i TOLD you my identity and you didn’t believe me.
   In john 10.37-38, Jesus says, “even though you don’t believe what I’m saying, just believe what I’m DOING, so that you CAN believe my identity.

   Calvinism is false. Bring me any calvinist argument you want, and I’ll set you free from it.

   Anyone who comes to faith in Jesus Christ has done so because the Father has made this possible through the Gospel, the origin of which was “before the beginning of time” (2 Timothy 1:10). It is the Father that has ordained the Gospel as the Plan to defeat the works of the Devil (1 John 3:8b) and reconcile fallen mankind back to Himself (Hebrews 10:6).

   The Father, through the Gospel message, draws all men to Christ the Son but volition-free will remain relevant as that “drawing” necessitates a “choice.” The Father has indeed given the faithful to Christ by offering them the opportunity to choose life by grace through faith in Jesus as Lord…this is done as the Father desires that all men be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). Once the individual proclaims faith in Messiah, they are sealed by Holy Spirit and secure in our Lord forever (John 10:28-30); no one will snatch them out of the hand of Jesus or the Father as Jesus will lose no one.

   This has nothing to do with predestination or Calvinistic election.

    My question for all is yes we all who are believers in Jesus Christ know God has predestined us, we know we are His elect His chosen people but my question to you all is this, what evidence has been produced in your lives that makes your assurance fully known to you that you are truly Gods elect? What proof do you have that your election and faith is genuine? There are specific evidences the Holy Spirit produces and manifest in our lives that gives us an assurance. The reason I ask is some may not know so id like to see some answers to see who actually knows and who is in doubt then id like to share with you what Gods word has revealed to me the evidences are that we are truly His Elect.

    Jesus is the Good Shepherd and He KNOWS “His own” (John 10:14) sheep (John 10:27).

    It is asserted that the pharisees rejected Christ, did not and COULD not hear Jesus BECAUSE they are not His sheep (John 10:26).

    This line of reasoning is coupled with Christ’s statements referring to the saved as sheep (Matt. 7:15), and the lost as goats in a passage about judging the righteous and the wicked at the end (Matt. 25:32-33), and Him coming to seek and save the “lost sheep” (Matt. 10:6; 15:24; Luke 15:3-6), meaning that the elect are merely “lost sheep,” while the non-elect are and always will be goats.

    First, the “lost sheep” are NOT simply all unconverted believers, but lost JEWS, or better, believing Jews who had been deceived by the teaching of the Pharisees. God said that His people had “BECOME lost sheep” (Jeremiah 50:6, 17; Ezekiel 34:6, 8; see also 1Peter 2:25, written to Jews). When Jesus said that His primary mission was “to the lost sheep” (Matthew 10:6; 15:24), He was alluding to the fact that He was sent to the Jews first (Matthew 10:5-6; 15:24; 24:47; Romans 1:16; 2:9, 10). Notice that the full quote of those verses is “to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

    Notice, also, that Christ KNOWS His sheep (John 10:14, 27), and they KNOW Him (John 10:2-3, 27), and His voice (John 10:4), hear His voice (John 10:27) and they “follow Him” (John 10:4, 27), and He gives them eternal life (John 10:27-28). There was a time when believers didn’t possess eternal life. At that time, they were NOT His sheep. Christ KNOWS His sheep because He has entered into a covenant relationship with them, which is what happens the moment they are born again. It appears that Christ is talking about BELIEVERS. Psalm 119 speaks of a BELIEVER going astray like a lost sheep (Psalm 119:176).

    The lost sheep of the house of Israel were already believers in the Old Covenant. They just didn’t know who the Messiah was yet. Similarly, the lost sheep outside the fold were the Gentiles who ALREADY feared God, like Cornelius (Acts 10).

    The Pharisees were being judicially hardened at this point for committing blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31-32; Mark 3:28-29), which happened before this. They had already resisted and rejected what the Holy Spirit had revealed to their hearts and explained it away by crediting Satan with the work of God (Matthew 12:22-24; Mark 3:22, 30). They WERE given many chances to believe: when He turned water into wine (John 2:1-11), healed the royal official’s son (John 4:46-54), healed the man with the unclean spirit (Mark 1:21-28; Luke 4:31-37), healed Simon Peter’s mother-in-law (Matthew 8:14-15; Mark 1:29-31; Luke 4:38-39), healed more who were sick or demon possessed (Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 1:32-34; Luke 4:40-41), cleansed the leper (Matthew 8:2-4; Mark 1:40-45; Luke 5:12-16), healed the paralytic (Matthew 9:1-8; Mark 2:1-12; Luke 5:17-26), healed the man who was ill and unable to walk for 38 years (john 5:1-47), healed the man with the withered hand (Matthew 12:9-14; Mark 3:1-6; Luke 6:6-11), healed crowds of sick and demon possessed people (Matthew 12:15-16; Mark 3:7-12), healed the centurion’s son (Matthew 8:5-13; Luke 7:1-10), raised the Widow’s son from the dead (Luke 7:11-17), and healed a demon possessed man who was blind and mute (Matthew 12:22-23; Mark 3:20), and they STILL did not believe. Only AFTER this point, God not only judicially hardened the unbelieving Jews, but He begin to teach to them in parables (Mark 3:23), in order to keep them blind, or they could have STILL been forgiven (Mark 4:11-12).

    Paul explains that God has judicially hardened the unbelieving Jews in response to their OWN hardening and unbelief (Romans 11:20), because they were seeking to establish their own righteousness (Romans 10:3) by works (Romans 11:6). Therefore, after enduring their rebellion with great patience (Romans 9:22-24), God began to temporarily hardened their hearts (Romans 11:25) and blind them (John 12.39-40) in order to use their rebellion to crucify the Son, which fulfilled His promise to Abraham to bless the world through his offspring (Genesis 18:18; 22:18; 26:4; Romans 11:11-12, 15, 19, 25, 30) by bringing the salvation of the world. Had they not rejected the Messiah, He would not have been crucified and redeemed us from our sins (1Corinthians 2:8-9; Mark 4:11-12).

    Furthermore, John 10 does NOT say that those who rejected could not BECOME sheep. In addition, Christ didn’t say that they COULD NOT believe.

    In fact, the Jews who had been partially hardened would have the veil removed once the time of the Gentiles being grafted in was completed (Romans 11:25), but they could repent and be grafted back in to the faith (Romans 11:23-24). In fact, the salvation of the Gentiles was even meant to evoke JEALOUSY for God’s blessing that they once had (Romans 11:11) so that they might return (Romans 11:11-14).

    Furthermore, God wasn’t through with the rebellious Jews (Romans 11:11) and He had not rejected them (Romans 11:1, 3, 28). He still DESIRED to SAVE them, as evident by Paul who expressed his desire for their salvation while writing in the Spirit (Romans 10:1), even saying that he was even willing to be DAMNED if it meant their salvation (Romans 9:3). God said Himself that He DESIRES to show His MERCY to those same vessels of wrath (Romans 11:30-32), which is another reason why He is enduring their rebellion patiently (Romans 9:22). As Peter said, the Lord is patient towards the Jews, not wishing for any of them to perish but for all to come to repentance (2Peter 3:9).

    That same lump of clay that was hardened into rebellion (Romans 9:20-21) was still “set apart/sanctified/holy” (Romans 11:16) and “beloved” (Romans 11:28). God was using a remnant from them who WERE saved, like Paul and the Apostles, to bring gentiles into the body of Christ along with the descendants of Abraham in further fulfillment of that promise (Romans 11:5), which also served the purpose of PROVOKING those SAME rebellious Jews to jealousy over God’s blessing and favor upon the saved gentiles (Romans 10:19, 11:11, 13-14), because, again, He desires to show MERCY to ALL (Romans 11:30-32), and IF they call upon the Lord (Romans 10:12-13), and didn’t CONTINUE in their unbelief, they would be grafted back into the olive tree (Romans 11:23-24), just as He promised the ancient Jews through Jeremiah in the other potter-clay analogy passage (Jeremiah 18:7-12).

    The hardening of Israel was only partial (Romans 11:25), meaning it was temporary, and was no longer in effect once the Gentiles had begun coming into the Kingdom of God (Romans 11:31). Paul spoke of the Gentiles coming in as already having occurred by the time he wrote Romans (Romans 11:25).

    So, the Jews didn’t believe because they weren’t His sheep (John 10:28), which was of their own doing. A case could be made that the converse is true. That is, they were not His sheep because they did not believe, which is taught throughout Scripture.

    Romans 10:9 says specifically ” if you confess with your mouth, and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and that he was raised after 3 days, you are saved.
    To me that sounds like it is our choice. We have to believe because God said that he would let us hear the gospel. The thief that was on the cross next to Jesus that defended him when the other Thief started to make fun of him said that he was the son of God and that he was innocent, Jesus said that he would see heme in Paradise that day. The man that was being crucified next to Jesus confess with his mouth and believed in his heart and it was at that time he was deemed worthy to go to the heaven because he did what Romans 10:9 said. Are you saying that God waited till the very last second of his life and deemed him okay?

    People are out of line to say belief in free will is heretical. Many great men and women of God have believed and still believe that God is completely sovereign and chooses to give man free will. And we have a scripture to back such claims.

    That passage references external forces snatching the sheep from his hand. That does not exclude the internal factor of a sheep deciding to leave his hand. As for his sheep following his voice that is the normative but does not lend to the doctrine of final perseverance of the saints. Because to take that literally then I as a Christian would never sin under any circumstances.

    Yes, God doesn’t guess. Even before the foundations of the world, He knows for certain who “would” be His sheeps (out of certainty) but not necessarily who “should” be His sheeps (not out of necessity)
