On Mar. 29, 2026, Michael Snyder (author, End of The American Dream website) wrote:
- Even if the Strait of Hormuz opened tomorrow, and that is certainly not going to happen, we are being warned that the economic impact of this war will be felt all the way through the end of this decade.
- A lot of energy infrastructure has already been destroyed during this war, and it will take years to rebuild it.
- And the crop losses that we will experience in 2026 due to a lack of fertilizer will be felt long into 2027.
- But the shortages that we are facing go way beyond just oil, natural gas and fertilizer.
- We are also facing unprecedented shortages of pharmaceutical drugs, plastics and other vitally important goods.
- A global nightmare has already begun, and if we don’t get the Strait of Hormuz opened soon, it will get a whole lot worse.
(My opinion: It is just speculation, but this global nightmare could quickly turn into the Tribulation Period, a false peace, war, famine, a global economic collapse, pestilences, etc.)
Here are some recent events that seem to indicate that the end of the age is near:
One, following Pres. Trump’s address to the nation on Apr. 1, 2026, when he said, “We’re going to hit them (Iran) extremely hard over the next two to three weeks; we’re going to bring them back to the Stone Ages, where they belong,” stocks on several stock markets declined, the price of oil surged, and the price of gasoline in the U.S. started going up again.
Two, concerning NATO’s support for the U.S. in its current war with Iran: on Apr. 2, 2026, Hal Turner Radio expressed its opinion that in the last 72 hours, NATO has – factually – collapsed:
- France: Blocked US military overflight for weapons to Israel — FIRST TIME since war began Feb 28. Israel cut ALL defense procurement from France.
- Italy: Denied Sigonella air base landing to US bombers. Defense Minister said relations are “solid and loyal.” DAYS after blocking US planes.
- Spain: Closed ENTIRE airspace to US operations. Blocked Naval Station Rota AND Morón Air Base. PM Sánchez called it “not NATO collective defense.”
- Poland: Refused to redeploy Patriot batteries. US burned through 1,200+ interceptors in 16 days. Poland said no.
- Switzerland: Denied 2 US reconnaissance flights. Suspended $120,000,000 in weapons exports under “neutrality laws.’
- UK: PM said, “This is not our war.” Trump told them to “build up some delayed courage.”
- Germany: President Steinmeier called war “possibly illegal.” WHILE hosting Ramstein — largest US base outside America.
That is: France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, UK, and Germany.
All in ONE week.
When this many allies abandon you at once, it’s not a disagreement.
It’s a collapse.

Three, concerning the destruction of Damascus, Syria, in one night: on Apr. 3, 2026, protestors supported by the Syrian government attacked the UAE embassy in Damascus.
They denounced the UAE, burned the Israeli flag, and more.
Four, on Apr. 6, 2026, Hal Turner Radio posted this diplomacy scorecard:
- 10-day ultimatum — Iran said no.
- 48-hour deadline — Iran said no.
- Turkey mediation — failed, no progress.
- Egypt mediation — failed, no progress (WSJ).
- Pakistan Islamabad Accord — rejected.
Every single path to a deal is now DEAD.
Five, concerning a ceasefire: on Apr. 6, 2026, Worthy News reported that:
- According to diplomatic sources, Trump held a series of high-level phone calls with regional leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed.
- The discussions centered on the state of the war, ceasefire proposals, and the strategic future of the region.
- Leaders across the Gulf made their position clear: any pause in fighting without removing Iran’s military and nuclear capabilities would only allow Tehran to regroup and rearm.
- They warned that despite recent military setbacks, Iran would likely rebuild its offensive infrastructure and continue supporting proxy forces that destabilize the region.
- This concern aligns with broader regional sentiment that a temporary ceasefire would ultimately prolong the conflict rather than resolve it.
(My comment: As I understand Bible prophecy, Pres. Trump will fail to finish the war with Iran because the nation must survive to fight the Battle of Gog of Magog. As I see it, Pres. Trump won’t finish the war in Iran; God will finish the war on the mountains of Israel. And it will include more than the defeat of Iran.)
(Update: Pres. Trump agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran subject to Iran immediately opening the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks. His ceasefire also includes Israel, and it can be extended based on Iran’s compliance and other agreements. At this time, missiles are still being fired at Israel.)
(A reminder: For years, a few prophecy teachers have speculated that the spoil that the nations will go after in the Battle of Gog of Magog will be partly about Israel’s oil. Trump’s two-week ceasefire with Iran is partly about opening the Strait of Hormuz so the Middle East oil can start flowing again.)
Update: On Apr. 8, 2026, Hal Turner Radio said that last night, the world enjoyed the big announcement of a two-week “Ceasefire” in the Iran Conflict.
But overnight into this morning, things are not quite what they initially seemed.
- Overnight, Kuwait shot down twenty-eight Iran Drones, all clearly launched AFTER the ceasefire was announced.
- Israel took multiple waves of Iranian missile fire AFTER the ceasefire was announced.
- UAE is currently under an Iranian missile attack. (8:10 AM EDT Wednesday).
- Iran, via state media, reports strikes from an “Unknown adversary” against its refinery on Lavan Island and the oil infrastructure there.
- Moreover, reports indicate that Iran’s Sirri Island in the Persian Gulf is also being bombed. According to Iranian media, the strikes on Sirri Island are being carried out by the armed forces of the United Arab Emirates. Oil infrastructure is being targeted.
- More interesting: The U.S. military “air-bridge” from CONUS to Europe… continued all night, unabated. Whatever the US has been moving for the Middle East – continues to move in great quantity.
- So, this “ceasefire” is tenuous at best, and a lie at worst.
(Update: On Apr. 8, 2025, it was reported that the ceasefire appears to be on the brink of total collapse.)
Six, concerning America’s success in the war with Iran, the U.S. Sec. of War Pete Hegseth said:
- Our troops, our American warriors, deserve the credit for this day, but God deserves all the glory.
Seven, concerning the rescue of the downed U.S. pilot, Pres. Trump and Pete Hegseth both said:
- God is good.
Here are some war reports as they came in from the U.S. and Israel:
The U.S. calls its attacks Operation Epic Fury.
Israel calls its attacks Operation Roaring Lion.
Wed. Day 33 (Apr. 1, 2026)
- United States intelligence assessments have indicated that the Iranian regime is currently unwilling to engage in negotiations to end its ongoing war with the US and Israel.
- Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei vowed to continue backing anti-American and anti-Israel terrorist groups across the Middle East.
Thurs. Day 34 (Apr. 2, 2026)
- The U.S. military carried out a massive bombing attack in Iran on the B1 highway bridge (a major bridge in Iran and one of the largest in the Middle East). Iran identified infrastructure in U.S.-allied nations across the Middle East as potential future targets.
- On social media, Trump wrote bridges next, then Electric Power Plants. He added that Iran’s leaders know what has to be done, and it has to be done, FAST!”
- Russia will ask the United States and Israel to ensure a ceasefire while it evacuates more Russian staff from the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran. Russia built the Iranian nuclear reactor at Bushehr, and Rosatom staff are working there on construction of additional units.
- The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad issued an urgent security alert warning American citizens to leave Iraq immediately due to credible threats of attacks by Iran-aligned terrorist militias within the next 24 to 48 hrs.
- Israel’s Defense Min. issued a stark warning to Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem, saying he would not live to see the “very heavy price” for attacks on Israel during Passover and would end up “at the bottom of hell” with other eliminated Iranian proxy leaders.
Fri. Day 35 (Apr. 3, 2026)
- Iran shot down two US aircraft in separate incidents, the first such losses in roughly five weeks of war. Two helicopters involved in the rescue effort were also hit by Iranian fire that wounded US personnel on board, but the aircraft safely returned to a US base. Two days later (Apr. 5, 2026), Pres. Trump said, S. forces have rescued the missing crew member of a fighter jet that was shot down over Iran, and all personnel involved in the rescue have returned safely. Trump added that the airman was injured, but he is expected to recover. Our forces destroyed the aircraft (2 jets and 2 helicopters) that had been downed, but Iran is saying it destroyed them.
- Trump called NATO a paper tiger, and he said Putin knows it, too.
Sat. Day 36 (Apr. 4, 2026)
- Trump warned Iran that “time is running out” if it wants to reach a deal with the United States (to abandon its quest for nuclear weapons and stop blocking the Strait of Hormuz).
- Israel struck a petrochemical complex in southwestern Iran that the military said was an essential site for producing and exporting chemical materials, including a “critical component for ballistic missiles” used to target the Jewish state.
Sun. Day 37 (Apr. 5, 2026)
- Iran rolled out a very large missile and launcher and said there will be a massive surprise tonight that the world will remember for centuries.
- Trump reiterated his warning to Iran that unless it opens the strategic Strait of Hormuz, U.S. forces will begin attacking Iranian power plants and bridges on Tuesday.
Mon. Day 38 (Apr. 6, 2026)
- Iran has informed both Qatar and Turkey that their services as mediators are no longer needed, and that messages from the United States should no longer be relayed to Iran in the future.
- Iran said the Strait of Hormuz will never return to its former state, especially for America and Israel.
- Trump said if Iran’s leaders do not agree to a deal by 8 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, every bridge and power plant in Iran would be “decimated.” It will happen by midnight (in 4 hours).
- Trump’s Board of Peace is demanding that Hamas conclude a deal to demilitarize Gaza by the end of this week.
Tue. Day 39 (Apr. 7, 2026)
- Israel warned Iranians to avoid trains and railways.
- The US conducted strikes on Kharg Island’s air defenses (bunkers and defensive installations on Iran’s main Island in the Strait of Hormuz).
- Israel killed terrorists from a Hezbollah anti-tank unit operating from a mosque in southern Lebanon, and located dozens of weapons.
- S. intelligence said Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is unconscious and unable to make decisions.
- Iran said it will now strike infrastructure in a manner that will deprive the U.S. and regional countries of oil and gas resources for years to come.
- Iran’s Mullahs are surrounding key infrastructure (bridges, power plants, etc.) with citizens, including women and children, to shield them from U.S. attacks.
- Trump called tonight’s deadline for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World.
- Trump agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran on the condition that Iran open the Strait of Hormuz.
- Iran has stepped up executions of people involved in protests against the country’s Islamic rulers.
Wed. Day 40 (Apr. 8, 2026)
- One Gulf-based representative and analyst complains, “For a ceasefire, the fire does not seem to be ceasing.”
- The ceasefire appears to be on the brink of total collapse.
- Israeli Prime Min. Netanyahu supports Pres. Trump’s ceasefire with Iran, but made it clear that it does not apply to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
- Israel accused Lebanon’s leaders of hypocrisy for criticizing Israeli strikes on Hezbollah, saying Beirut had failed to curb the Iran-backed terrorist group’s attacks from its territory.
- Israel carried out its heaviest strikes on Lebanon since the conflict with Hezbollah broke out last month.
- Iran responded to Israel’s attacks on Lebanon by reclosing the Strait of Hormuz.
Thurs. Day 41 (Apr. 9, 2026)
- Trump said U.S. military forces, ships and aircraft will remain deployed “in and around Iran” until a “real agreement” is fully implemented.
- Hezbollah fired several rockets and missiles at Israel from Lebanon.
Finally, are you Rapture Ready?
If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.
