According to the “this generation will not pass until all these things are fulfillled” pertaining to Israel becoming a nation… does this mean we are in the final decade? (Hosea 9:10, Matthew 24)

Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. Mathew 24:33We must all be ready for His return and not grow weiry, so that he doesnt come as a theif in the night ?

Austin M James so I just looked at that verse and by the way 1 verse don’t make and argument and certainly this verse doesn’t serve you well. Now the whole context of chapter 9 of hosea is about god punishing Israel and Matt 23 Jesus is pronouncing judgement on unbelieving Israel and Matt 24 he describes it. 70 ad it was fulfilled

That’s his second appearance that no one knows which nothing to do with the topic of which generation was Jesus referring to and it’s obvious it was the generation of his time not our time that’s where dispensational theology fails

Jesus did not say “this generation shall not pass …” pertaining to Israel becoming a nation. He said that in reference to Israel rejecting their Messiah and what that generation would experience because of it.
Think of the flow of all the gospel accounts…
1. God led his idolatrous people into Babylon, promising a time of restoration
2. John the Baptist shows up declaring a Baptism of repentance, preparing the nation for their Messiah
3. Immediately we see opposition from the religious elite; refusing John’s baptism
4. Jesus comes upon the scene and begins preaching repentance and the kingdom of God. He is authenticated by God the Father Himself through signs and wonders, walking in the power of the Holy Spirit.
5. The religious leaders become the number 1 antagonist of Jesus. Jesus begins to teach in parables, many of which reveal the coming judgement against those who refuse Him.
6. The Pharisees along with the Sadducees, Herodians and pagan Rome, plot the destruction and crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus warns the women as He’s walking to Golgotha, do not weep for me, weep for yourselves, pointing to a coming judgement. Jesus also told the high priest, that they would see Jesus riding on the clouds; pictoral imagery of God’s judgment, He himself bringing that judgement personally, the reason they accused Him of blasphemy.
7. Jesus plants His seed in the earth commands that they reproduce ( His church, gospel – making disciples).
8. All throughout the inception and growth of the Church; the Church is being persecuted mainly by the Pharisees.
9. Throughout the book of Acts the word of God is spreading from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth ( Rome). The end of Acts we see Paul rebuking the unbelieving Jews and stating that he is now turning primarily to the Gentiles.
10. Emperor Nero turns against the Church and turns on Jerusalem (the great Harlot).
11. Nero persecuted the Church for 42 months and also destroyed Jerusalem leveling the old Temple destroying the old sacrificial system forever.
12. During this time, the prophecies of Jesus were fulfilled against His people just as he stated they would be in Matthew 24. -

Vine, M.A. tells us that the Greek word for “generation” which Jesus used, when He there referred to “this generation,” is “genea.” And according to this Greek Bible dictionary, “genea” can also refer to “a race of people possessed of similar characteristics, pursuits, etc., of bad character.” This Greek Bible dictionary provides us with a list of several passages of Scripture where it appears that Jesus used the Greek word “genea” in this way, to refer to “a race of people” who largely “possessed” “bad character.” For in all of the passages of Scripture there cited (Matthew 17:17; Mark 9:19; Luke 9:41; Luke 16:8; and Acts 2:40), and in several other similar passages found with the help of a Bible concordance (Matthew 12:39; 16:4; Mark 8:38; and Luke 11:29), we can see that Jesus Christ and His apostle Peter used the same Greek word for “generation” that Christ used in Matthew 24:34 in phrases that were extremely critical of the Jewish people who then refused to accept Jesus Christ as their promised Messiah, just as most of them still do today. The Greek word was Genos meaning people who lives at same time. Coming when connected with clouds is not referring to his second coming but coming in judgement. The people of the day knew it would behoove us to interpret like they did

No, your inability to understand the prophetic interruption that happened on the Damascus road is the problem.
Christ meant that generation, right then and there, the people he was talking to. On the prophetic timeline, Messiah arrives, is cut off, judgment falls on Israel (great tribulation; the time of Jacob’s trouble), and the kingdom is ushered in with the king in Jerusalem and the new covenant with Israel in place.
That didn’t happen. Instead, God interrupted prophecy with an unprophesied offer of salvation by grace alone revealed to his chief enemy. It wasn’t made known to any of the prophets and was kept secret since the world began and it’s not the gospel of the kingdom whereby Israel will be saved. This gospel makes no distinction between Jew and Gentile and is individually based, instead of nationally.
The failure to make the distinctions in who’s talking to who and under what circumstances has been one of the major failures of the church at large, the other primary one being they don’t know what book to use.
