I have included a Special message at the end of this article. I hope you will read it and take it to heart.
“But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand” (Ezekiel 33:6). Emphasis added.
One of the consequences associated with being a “watchman” is having to constantly monitor unsettling current events and write accurately according to the reality of them. A lot of what is current human activity is difficult to watch, read, or even comprehend.
But it must be done.
Please don’t think I am complaining. It is just part of our assignment. It is sort of an additional duty for some who have been given a love of prophecy as our gift of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
Prophecy is God’s key to understanding these times, and He is our strength when we observe their unfolding in real time. It is His signature on His contract of Eternity.
Things are what they are, and I can confidently assume that all the others who have been given this gift feel the same way. It is an honor and a blessing to serve the Lord.
It is also a blessing when we realize the “why” of God allowing the meltdown of humanity and the rise of evil that is its natural result to go on for what seems to be such a long time to us in human terms, but in His eternal existence, is just 6 days.
“Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day” (2 Peter 3:8).
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). Emphasis ^ added.
The “why”: It is all about God’s Love and Mercy in building a forever family and an eternity free of all the grief, strife and sin brought about by our own rebellious nature.
Having said all that (and needing to remind myself occasionally as well), I will move on to this somewhat Americentric article that, I believe, reflects the truth, not just about America, but also about the rest of this reeling and staggering world.
We frequently hear people say, “Why does God allow all this evil to happen?” What should really be said is, “Why do we allow all this evil to happen…and go unpunished?”
We have “laws,” but they have just become chess pieces in the war against evil.
America Under Judgement.
“From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and from him who has been entrusted with much, even more will be demanded“ (Luke 12:48).
America has been blessed by the Lord beyond comprehension. I believe the facts speak for themselves, and it’s not necessary to review what those blessings are.
The why of them, in summation, must first be acknowledged to be God’s Mercy and Grace. America as a nation was established on the foundation of the Word of God and has largely served the function of spreading the Gospel around the world and following the precepts contained in His Word. But that is no longer true.
“These people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me” (Isaiah 29:13). Emphasis added.
America has never been perfect; we all know that, but for a very long time, as a nation, we were diligent and dedicated to observing and doing what was right in God’s eyes.
Often in political discourse in our government, people, particularly (but not limited to), politicians, erroneously and frequently misquote God’s Word in a vain attempt to appear righteous, resulting in nothing less than mockery of Him. They reveal their ignorance, misunderstanding and total disregard for Truth. God does not miss one syllable.
This, coupled with the depravity that has become ops normal in America, is resulting in God’s judgment that should be noticed, but is not, by far too many people.
What is happening in this country: division, crime, debauchery, etc, has been warned of in several places in the Word of God for 2,000+/- years. For those who have ears to hear and eyes to see, they can be found in these verses: (Romans 1:28-32, Galatians 5:19-21, Ephesians 4:18-19, 2 Peter 2:12-14, and particularly, Isaiah 5:20).
This is the state of America (and the world) in 2026.
The difference is, to America, much has been given, and much that has been required is no longer being taken to heart, and it has not, generally, since the 1960s. It has been replaced by hubris, arrogance and evil. Could this explain America’s absence from prophecy?
But the “much” will still be required, and even now, the judgments that God customarily employs and that are illustrated throughout the Bible are being enacted against America. What was once a strong nation of like-minded peoples has been infiltrated by evil ideologies disguised as ”religion” (including humanism), and that are anathema to the Bible-based backbone of what is currently left of our republic.
It is what happens when God is forsaken and His precepts are ignored.
While this command, which was given to the Hebrews (and also ignored by the Hebrews), was not given directly to America, its purpose and truth still apply, as do all the precepts of God.
“You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them; you shall not serve them nor bow down to them” (Joshua 33:7).
But this is exactly what has been done even in our own government. Politicians swearing on false, so-called holy books has become acceptable.
These current, incremental judgments are designed by God to call attention to the need to repent and turn back to Him. This is what He has always done.
“The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1).
Again, His precepts are not exclusive to Israel or the Hebrews but to all peoples.
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). Emphasis added.
As a nation, America and far too many Americans have turned their back(s) on the only One who can save us. I had hoped that America might survive the Tribulation to go on and serve God in the Millennium, but at present, the momentum is not encouraging.
How will the Rapture affect this country? I think it could be the deciding factor.
Awaiting Catastrophic Judgment?
As said, America is not directly mentioned in prophecy. In view of current events, one would think there must be a solid reason for that. Speculatively, it doesn’t bode well for this country, given a somewhat recently, rapidly increasing trend.
The exponential rise in antisemitism and open hatred of Israel in America may indicate the reason why the largest, most powerful nation, actively involved in the Middle East and an ally of Israel since its rebirth in 1948, seems to be missing from what is rapidly unfolding as a precursor to the events foretold to constitute the “end of the age.”
God has made clear that He will have to execute judgment in unequivocal terms:
“So on that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem” (Zechariah 12:9). Emphasis added.
Will America be enslaved by the Antichrist after the Rapture and end up coming against Jerusalem (and thereby God) so as to be destroyed?
The Word of God does not say, but what it does say is that the Jews are His chosen people, and Israel will never again be pushed out of their land or be destroyed (Jeremiah 31:35-37/Isaiah 11:11). Emphasis added.
Currently, the vitriol against Israel is most prominent in the Democrat Party. I have no problem imagining the weak-kneed Republicans joining in the Israel-hatred if the Democrats regain power. For many, their political survival will be their priority.
People fail to understand that God holds everyone to the same standards.
“For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (Matthew 7:2).
If this were to happen and America becomes a curse to Israel and an enemy of God, it would not be hard to imagine God’s final judgment, as prophesied in Zechariah 12:9.
Things could be moving in that direction.
Now to the crux of this article.
The Book of Revelation records the final state of this world of rebellion and Godlessness. Contained within that terminal account, the final revelation of God’s judgments, is a glorious description of the future that He has planned for those who take Jesus’ Words to heart and act on them while they are still in their living years.
Revelation 21:1-22:21 describes the Eternal Kingdom of God.
But for Now:
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).
”Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2b). Emphasis added.
The special message I promised you:
For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no real hope or peace in your life.
You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.
It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.
And, what are His terms according to His Word?
- Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
- Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
- That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
- To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
- Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
- To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.
This is what leads one to the Spiritual Rebirth that Jesus requires (John 3.3).
God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.
- No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
- No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
- Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.
If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.
“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).
There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. They are incapable of it. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.
The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
