Anyone. Do all inclinations to sin go away once you’re saved? Let me give some context because this is a very loaded question. Let’s say a man (or woman) is born again from being gay. They’re led through the sinners prayer (doesn’t matter formal or informal) and decide to accept Christ. Do you believe that every fiber of change that is needed has already happened, thus absolutely no sexual desire to be with the same sex again or do you think it takes time? Here’s why I ask. Some believers believe that once you become a believer that free will is now negated or even believe that once we’re saved, we will no longer have any desire to wander outside of God’s will again. But if this was the case, there would be testimonials of believers backsliding OR (for that matter) the prodigal son. While I absolutely believe that believers (baby’s and mature believers) will experience a desire to change on the inside, it does take time. A new believer (male) may be very strong with other believers, but that doesn’t negate any temptation to porn where he may be addicted and he uses his laptop in the corner of the house by himself when he’s alone. A mature believer can still be haunted by demons from alcoholism and that temptation could prove devastating when he finds himself on a bar stool during “last call” and he’s been there since he got out of work. While Romans 8 applies, so absolutely does Romans 7. Thoughts?
