In essence the atheist does not want there to be a God, because then, they would have to recognize that a change has to be made. And they do not want to change. But deep down… they know. We all know.

Becauze for the same reason they see a beautiful painting they assume the paint just splattered on it all by itself and turned into a beautiful masterpiece.all.by.its.self. There’s no other reason.

They believe, but are in rebellion because they love their sin more than they love God.

Or perhaps religion has destroyed their perception of God. Even the churches make God into something he is not. Hey salvation is a free gift. Once you have it can’t lose it. But that’s a problem too Right? Sigh..

My brother is atheist and I speak to him about the Bible probably more than any Christian I know.
We grew up abused, and when a child grows up in a house where no one can be trusted or relied upon, it’s very hard to accept that a God can love you(when your own parents can’t) and how terrible things can happen with no protection from God.
Just my personal experience.

Because there’s no evidence for a God. Also, there’s a ton of religions in the world which all claim to have knowledge of God, but none of them have evidence of their claims being true.

Its probably due to the poor explanation from Christians. Get some great scholars and theologians behind you, eg. Ravi Zacharias (and other apologists), Stephen Meyer (great scientist and Christian. ) Many others. Google it !

Most atheist believe there is no God because they don’t want to be accountable. But if they say they don’t believe in God, how can they compare him to something or nothing else if there is no God

There’s no atheist in this world. Plz don’t take it otherwise. Those who claim they are atheist, in fact they are rebellious to God for things didn’t go as they supposed.

Atheists are demanding for evidence that can be proven in the lab like that the 5 senses can apprehend. This is not using good logic and reason. How can a God who is not part of nature be proven by using the 5 senses? That’s like asking what is the taste of blue.

Different reasons, I guess. Personally, when I was apatheist I didn’t care about it either way. I just wanted to be happy and pursue my goals. I suspect most ppl are like that.. Maybe those who are intellectual atheists have questions that they feel aren’t sufficiently answered.

Atheists do not “know” there is no God. They suppress God who has made Himself known to them. No one will have excuse. Romans 1:20, Jeremiah 29:13, Deuteronomy 4:29, Matthew 7:7, Luke 11:9. No excuses!

Biblically speaking Atheism doesn’t exist. -
When you listen to the arguments of atheists against God, you begin to see that they are trying to avoid accountability unless it’s on their own terms.
In other words, if morality is objective rather than subjective, then they want nothing to do with it because they think that morality should be fluid and if they mess up, they shouldn’t have to change, morality should. That is, UNLESS morality changing, somehow, is inconvenient to them. THEN, at the point, they want morality and rules to be objective so they can complain about the injustice done to them.

Not all shall inherit the Kingdom of God. Preach the gospel and leave the rest for the Holy Spirit. At the end each and everyone of us shall give account of himself (Rom. 14:12). No one is a born atheist rather it’s by choice.

When I called myself an “atheist” it was because all the bad in my life. I couldn’t imagine a God that would allow these things to happen. As a Christian I now see free will and sin were to blame not God himself.

I am however, a biblical believer, and can answer according to the scriptures.
But, you are literate and I know this because you can write. So I think the best thing is for you to read it yourself…

Update: Hitchens now believes in God – 100%! So does Darwin! Regardless of their location!
Atheist-
A person ‘who denies’ or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.A Major Problem: The God any so-called ‘atheist’ is denying can live outside of time and dimension – the ‘atheist’ cannot, they are therefore NOT a credit-worthy source of knowledge. The quest for knowledge should never end with those who lack it!
Hence, ‘atheists’ are always reduced to the level of agnostics [one without knowledge]. They can only guess. Nothing more!
Atheist is a ‘self-imposed’ title agnostics give themselves! Atheists do “NOT” exist!
Regarding Christianity, NOT to be confused with false religion, cults, etc., Christians are NOT agnostics! God [Jesus] is NOT unknown, nor is He unknowable! And while ‘agnostics’ can do no more than guess and/or suppress the truth, Christians have medical facts, archeological facts, historical facts, proven prophecy, scientific facts, biological facts, secular agreement and more. ‘Agnostics’ and the aforementioned so-called ‘atheists’ are limited to a ‘faith-based’ religion!
And, of course, Romans 1:18-20 tells us that ‘agnostics’ do NOT exist either!

My question is, why would there be atheists in this group?

There are literally too many reasons to list.
When I study and learn about what we do know about the natural world, I quickly realized what I was raised to believe as a Christian is not real. -
God and eternal life is a comforting thought & humans are naturally drawn to this, as opposed to the alternative thought that when we die that’s it, and there is nothing. We also like the idea that our loved ones are somehow still with us after they have passed. It’s easy to believe too, considering the majority of the planet also believes. All you have to do is go with the flow. That doesn’t make it true. The most reasonable explanation is a much harder pill to swallow, and may require going against the beliefs of friends, family and social support structures.

There are logical proofs demonstrating certain concepts of god cannot logically exist. On the question on is there is a god, I don’t really care if there is one. It wants nothing to do or have any involvement in my life so god either doesn’t exist or doesn’t care enough to change my mind.

I’m not an atheist. I believe there is a Great Mystery, Ultimate Reality, or Supreme Being. But I don’t believe that Jehovah is the real Supreme Being because of all the false prophecies and horrible things in the Bible.
