Do it now!

“If you do not have a regular place and a regular time to pray you do not have a prayer life.”

My prayer time this morning hit an impasse.

For the last several years on the 19th of each month I made it a point to especially pray for my Aunt Yvonne (my mother’s sister).

But since last month Aunt Yvonne has met her Maker and is beyond my care and prayers. Now there is an empty space on my monthly prayer list.

As I reflected on this earlier this morning it reminded me that there indeed comes a time when it is too late.

Too late to say, “I love you.”

Too late to speak, listen, touch, hug, help, reach out, give, receive, apologize, forgive, sympathize, empathize, celebrate, laugh, cry, share…pray.

The ONE THING for today: Mortality is the reminder that there indeed comes a time when it will be too late. There is a “Do-it-now” in every day and to fail to do it can result in a lifetime of regret.
