No it is about God love for us …in a most intimate way. I think maybe 12 and up. Sex is not DIRTY..it is something we must talk about..to take it back from Satan..who had attempted to make sex dirty, evil,forbidden lust, and profitable for depraved people.

So ultimately the parent should be the one to introduce sex to their kids when they (the kids) are ready, every kid is different I was ready at 11 years old some people need to wait longer than that, and others don’t. As a future parent I expect Song of Solomon to be apart of the sex talk. Not a bible study of, but as a tool to show that this is a sacred thing God designed. Sex is very very important and God made it that way for a reason, if there was ever a resource for teaching about it, the Bible is it.

Let’s make no mistake here. When the euphemisms are understood this book is very sexually provocative, and describes quite a few sexual actions. But the Scriptures handle it with an attitude of sacredness, and respect.

The song of Solomon is not a book about love. It is about lust and mankind’s fallen love. It is about the fornication of Esau, or inter racial marriage. Nehemiah 13 talks about how Solomon sinned in this and that just because Solomon did it and was greatly blessed, it should not be used as an excuse to intermarry. Deuteronomy 22:9 9Do not plant two kinds of seed in your vineyard; if you do, not only the crops you plant but also the fruit of the vineyard will be defiled. See the symmetry with the vineyard analogy? Song of Solomon isn’t a book of praise and love, but of shame and lust. It is heavily overlaid with passion and lust and superficial attractions. The language ,throughout, speaks greatly of the fact that this is a “love story” between Solomon and his foreign/strange wives that were of the colored races.
I think it’s a great reminder that sex is nothing to be ashamed of as long as it is within the boundaries of marriage. Too many times, parents overlook or purposefully avoid the topic of sex and the tendencies, feelings and thoughts that stem from being attracted to someone. This can lead to a high school age student feeling guilty for being attracted to someone. To think they are a “super sinner” because they find themselves struggling with lust when it is a completely normal phase of life. It is a good reminder that sec within marriage is a good thing and is a gift from God.
