I got baptized in the Holy Ghost with speaking in tongues at youth camp at age 13. I learned to love prayer time at the altar.

I never saw a young person slain in the spirit at youth camps! was it only an adult thing?

You should have seen Charles Page trying to learn how to swim at Ohio Youth Camp. It was a sight to behold! I’m jus sayin!

I received several swim trophies at Tenn youth camp

We raised our 3 sons in Okla. & La. Church of God Youth Camps & both of us for almost 40 yrs. had various positions, as Counselors, KP, Crafts, Nurse station & wherever needed & in La. I coached a Jr. Talent participant. Also, I was baptized 66 by Bro. Lamar Vest in an Oklahoman Youth Camp & was honored again when he issued my husbands & prayed for him in the late 90s when he became an Ordained Bishop & I shared Bro. Vest.

My grandson Dillon took a lot of candy with him. I didn’t know he has. Got a call the second day. He had up Chucked in his sleeping bag. I went and got him. Washed the bag and drove him back. It was about an hour there and hour back. No candy when I took him back, that was at the State camp grounds in Weatherford, Texas

My wife’s family ran a penecostal youth camp for 40 years, and once the guest evangelist wanted to thank Harold Butz’s wife and sister for fixing up his cabin so nicely. So at the start of an adult camp meeting asked if the 2 ladies with Harry Butz would please stand up. Sheepishly they did , and the evangelist was laughing so hard at himself, he had trouble preaching seriously.
