No but it does mention sexual immorality and lack of restraint

  2. Robert DeWitt says:

It mentions lust. Can you masterbate without lusting?

  3. Daygoro Perez says:

Also does mention one time where a man spilled his seed on the ground to not get a woman pregnant and he angered God

  4. Randy Omatta says:

But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
    Matthew 5:28

Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.
    Romans 6:13

  5. Randy Omatta says:

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
    Colossians 3:5

  6. Mark Richmond says:

I find the key is to walk by the Spirit and then the answers come. God is within us the Spirit the Son and the Father. In the flesh it’s hopeless. Many times we try in our fleshly minds to figure this all out and it’s a mush mash. I don’t believe the Bible speaks explicitly about many of these things. Anyway that’s some of my take.

  7. Andre Kanara says:

I find it hard as a christian to NOT masturbate.. how can i overcome this. Its been ongoing for years and my partner doesnt know that I masturbate ???

  8. Doc Pip Thomas says:

No. The issue for that goes to the thinking or thoughts around the act. The thoughts around the act are usually lust, adultery, fornication (obviously) but also, coveting, theft, abuse, debasing, idolatry, pride, etc etc etc.

  9. Samuel Johnson says:

    What’s masturbation?

  10. Leo Villalobos says:

Yes, it’s called sexual immorality. All sex outside of marriage is sexual immorality, fornication or adultery.

  11. David Keen says:

    Possibly in Leviticus 15:16-17.

  18. Brad Jones says:

Not directly, no, but it’s covered by Jesus saying if you lust after a woman you’re guilty of adultery.

  19. Monique Davis says:

    It’s Lasciviousness

  20. David Stacks says:

  22. Noble Amandah says:

It’s not the act it’s your mind

  23. Justin Bennett says:

At the very least it’s an issue of self-control (Gal 5:22-23).

  24. Scott Cone says:

    Yes. It’s in Genesis 2…

“Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone…
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

If it’s not good for the man to live alone it can’t possibly be good for a man to have sex alone.

Sex was created to demonstrate the love, connection, joy and pleasure Christ has in His people. True sexual love focuses on the other, not the self.

There are a number of practical reasons not to masturbate but this is my theological reason. It’s grounded in creation and the purpose for sex.

  25. 陈豪杰 says:

perhaps i would use the perspective from Roman 12:1-2.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Do all things to glory God instead of merely satisfying your inner desire. In that case, how could you masturbate and glorify God? How can you offer your body while you defile it with lust? So, brothers and sisters, I urge you, do not conform to the pattern of this world, but offer yourself, your whole self, including your genitals, to glorify God. Use your genitals as the Lord designed it for, to pee and to multiply.

  26. Cynthia DeSimone says:

Good point! The Bible does state that if one cannot control their desires, it is better to get married!
    1 Corinthians 7

  27. Gina Draker says:

Sex is a good thing that God created for the body to body and heart to heart love intimacy established by marriage. Sexual pleasuring is not just a thing alone. That equates with sitting down to have fine dining and just pretending to eat.

  28. Franks Biblestudy says:

Leviticus 15:16 directly calls it unclean, which is Torah, also in Romans 6:13 implies presenting our members as righteous, masturbation is a dark process and highly imaginative and sexually charged, easily induced by porn which is very easy to access nowadays, so I would say that masturbation is the absence or the denial of a relationship, masturbation is manipulating yourself into a feeling that eventually becomes impersonal and thought polygamy. “Every Man’s Battle” is a good resource to understanding this subject.

  29. Ikenna Uzochukwu says:

Yes. Masturbation is driven by LUST in the heart

  30. Tom Salamone says:

Yes. Sensuality is prohibitive behavior in the Bible.

  31. Arya Aquinas says:

  32. Peter Ferlin says:

    It is parallel to

  33. Freddy Jocksand Diaz says:

Jesus says anybody who lusts after a woman in his mind has commited adultry….. yes it is a sin.

  34. Freddy Jocksand Diaz says:

I will offer an explanation that is a bit explicit, but it is Biblical and not many couples or young singles know or even talk about this topic. So here you go. I hope it is taken with maturity…

    Jacob Harrison

I wondered about that myself before until I found a passage that is very telling. Even though sex is intended for pleasure as well, it is not the primary purpose according to Scripture, procreation is. So in ancient Israel there was a law called levirate marriage where a man was legally expected to marry the wife of his deceased brother in order to “redeem her” there is a story of a man that didn’t want to impregnate this woman and so he didn’t ejaculate in her and for this he was punished by God..

So it seems basically if we are going by the Bible, then spilling our seed is also a sin.

This is indeed a touchy subject because that is the most natural form of contraception. But again, this in Scripture is a sin. Reasons being that all Israelites were expected to have many children because they were expecting to preserve the lineage for the Messiah….
I beleive since the Messiah is Jesus, then there is no need for us to “fill the Earth” so in the aspect of sexuality I suggest both husband and wife to speak with a Christian Marriage and Sex counselor to determine what are the practices that both agree and feel comfortable as it is also permissible in Scripture…

So. I beleive Bible is clear when Paul says: Whomever is burning… go ahead and get married…. that is to avoid the need for masturbation or other practices that are against nature like anal sex and many others….

We need to understand that much of our sexual knowledge comes from a corrupted version of sex that objectifies women and it makes us addicted to lust.

List and desire are different things.

It is ok to desire to have sex with our wives, but we also want to remember that the very act of love and cleaving in marriage also represents Jesus’s love for the church.
Let us make sexuality devine like God says when He made Adam and Eve…. he made then man and woman and he saw that it was very good…

So let us enjoy sexuality withing marriage also in a way we give ourselves to our spouse and we seek her pleasure, honor and wellbeing and not just to satisfy our own desire. A wife’s dignity should be enhanced in marriage and not degraded.

  35. Freddy Jocksand Diaz says:

To all singles and couples out there who want to learn to grow together but also want to honor God in their sexuality. I recommend this book

  36. David Holmes says:

I Thessalonians 4:3-8 [πορνεία porneía, por-ni’-ah] any sexual act outside of Marriage (yes) includes masturbation.. get Married Bro?.. the right Christian woman.. any Qs?

  37. Jason Blackshear says:

Fornication. Masturbation is self fornication. And proverbs suggests that it is better to fornicate with a prostitute than masturbate.

  38. Carl D Pedro says:

Which passage does it say that?

  39. Celeste Marie says:

I challenge your assertion that “Acts are not sinful in and of themselves.” Tell that to a rape victim, or to the mother who is burying her murdered child. Certain acts are always sinful.
Sin is sin whether we choose to recognize it or not. Rationalizing it, or making it “subjective” is just another way to excuse it.

The thoughts that a person indulges in when engaging in this activity are not glorifying to God.

And NO, that is not an assumption, that is common sense.

Jesus is very clear that sin is a matter of the heart.

We are told over and over to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind. You are responsible for deciding whether this activity fulfills that command.

    Matthew 22:37
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

  40. Carl D Pedro says:

No need for “common sense”, because conventional common sense is just your feelings getting in the way of God’s desires.

Romans 14:23 – whatever does not precede from faith is sin.
