F– finding
I — intercede
N — networking and marketing
I — investing
S — sending
H — harvest reaping
If the COG would spend the next six years focusing on the fulfilment of these six letters it would be a good thing!

F– Finding prospects is an essential part of carrying out the great commission.
People being recruiting into the insurance field are often told that if they can find enough
prospects to lead to two sales per week, they will make a good living.
Every church should be diligent to find and keep at least 15 prospects on their search list.
Then when the evangelism team meets to call their names out in prayer and to identify the best way to reach them there are enough names to be a challenge to their faith and to develop a strategy to reach them.
If there are as many as 15 names on the prospect list it will soon become clear that they will need to be reached in different ways. Will it be a phone call? A personal visit? Maybe through social media? It should be determined; who among the evangelism team will be the best choice to reach out to them.
Car salesmen have what they call a “ bird dogging “ operation in which they recruit neighbors and friends to spot a prospective car buyer and if they send them in they will get a part of the commission. In law firms someone is usually designated as, “ the rainmaker “ so the “ F “ group or the finders group should look around and let their own imaginations be kindled to ways of finding new prospects and then praying and wooing them into the fold. -
I– the second letter in the finish acronym stands for intercede. As a pastor and as a lay person you have probably interceded on behalf of others not only to God but stood as a go between in family matters etc. I cannot recall the times I have interceded before judges, between husband and wife and parents and children. An effective church will be a go between in many situations, to plead with parents to let their child ride the church bus, to let their child attend church camp etc.. In some cases even to let their child continue to attend church.

The “ N “ letter in this case stands for Networking; the COG leadership thinks it is important to do. Indeed it is! Churches as a group and a body need to network within the community. Networking should be done in good faith and with the understanding that there is much to learn as well as much to share. We are not to go to community events where several churches participate believing in our hearts that “ they” are only half-saved or only partially covered in grace, just as we hope that other fellowships will not brand us as emotional and irrational people nor do we want them to perceive that we feel “ holier than them.” Networking is a learning experience for all concerned.
