Good afternoon everyone. I hope you’re all doing well. I’d like to ask a question…… does faith alone save?
I’ve been on a thread where someone stated…. scripture never says faith alone saves. I personally don’t think they understand scripture, but am I wrong?

    Many more after that.

    Ephesians 2:8-9

    BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

COC teaches…. which I’m not…… you MUST be baptised

  7. Joe Leosala says:

Christ is the One who saves not faith. Faith as a gift from God, serves only as a vehicle through which Salvation is delivered.

  8. Hank Parrish says:

acts 2 38 tells you how to be saved

Jesus said, ‘Repent and Believe in the Gospel.’ Mark 1:15.

The correct gospel is faith in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins and pleasing the Father through repentance and faith

  12. Carol Strong says:

    Faith has legs

  13. Paul Brown says:

God is gracious. If anyone is ever saved from anything, it’s because of God’s graciousness toward them.

You are saved by grace alone, and it’s completely up to God whether or not to show His grace to anyone.

  14. Ralph T. A. Ranger says:

Faith is from God that allows us to believe Jesus is Lord and God raised him from the dead. Believing in Jesus’ lordship and resurrection is what saves. (Romans 10:9).

Faith is from God to allow us to believe in Jesus. In this way God gets all the glory as he gives us faith in him and he is the one who saves us.

  15. Exzuannette Alicea says:

Faith is the key.. you can pray, study all you want.. but faith is where is it.. the faith as small as a mustard seed ??

  16. David Chase says:

    You are right

  17. Kevin Nyongesa says:

  18. Diana Lesperance says:

There are 2 definitions to the word “faith” in the Greek (pistis)

    1. relating to God:
the conviction that God exists and is the creator and ruler of all things, the provider and bestower of eternal salvation through Christ

    relating to Christ:
a strong and welcome conviction or belief that Jesus is the Messiah, through whom we obtain eternal salvation in the kingdom of God

    the religious beliefs of Christians:
belief with the predominate idea of trust (or confidence) whether in God or in Christ, springing from faith in the same

    And…

    2.fidelity, faithfulness:
the character of one who can be relied on

Faith requires not just belief in Jesus, but faithfulness to the Word who became flesh. Many people believe in Jesus and justification by faith, but they also believe in evolution, or Mormon doctrine, or gay marriage, or many other false teachings. How can this be reconciled? If faith alone is required, the understanding that faith has two characteristics is important.

  19. Nick Dufour says:

You can’t get through Roman’s without learning justification by faith Paul deals with good works and obeying the law and explains how neither one of them gives you justification it is very clear

  20. Kathy DeVoss says:

It is belief not faith. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved

  21. Slaven Radic says:

Ephesians 2:8-10 – saved by faith and will demonstrate that faith through performing God-ordained works

  22. Jeff Finster says:

Don’t be deceived. Adding that “Sola” to the “Fide” has been perhaps the most destructive lie man has ever told himself. Wellspring of lawlessness that prevails in our day. It allows men to think of themselves different than they are in reality. Like… though I’m a sinner I am a saint nonetheless! BS! Yeshua lives this very day as an advocate between a man and the Living God so that we who believe have access to our Father through Him. Access for what? All that is necessary for us to “work out our salvation in fear and trembling” …it is NOT US WORKING, But our God Himself working “in us” BOTH to WILL and to DO of His good pleasure! What works? Those He has prepared in advance that WE should walk in. In short… not our works that we do! His works that He alone has worked in us. Selah!

How long from Abraham’s call to when his faith was made perfect IN WORKS… and the scriptures fulfilled that said “Abraham believed God and it was imputed to him as righteousness”?

The parable of the vine and the branches… where is the good fruit found hanging? On the branches. That’s us folks… to the glory of the Vine and the Vine Dresser.

  23. Carnil Jayawardena says:

Yes by faith alone but true Faith produces good works.

  24. Terry Johnson says:

    You are saved by grace

  25. David Holmes says:

Faith only in Christ SAVES yes!

  26. Champ Claussen says:

Faith does not save us. If it did, then Salvation would depend upon our faith. Salvation is a gift of grace. Faith is the avenue to the grace. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone.

  27. Cyndi Waske-Cramblit says:

Grace alone by faith alone in Christ alone.

  28. Kevin Lynch says:

    Faith slone

  29. Hannaniah Gargar says:

We are not saved by good works but we are saved by grace FOR good works.

Because if our salvation depends with our good works, maybe rich people has more advantage than the poor people because they can do a lot of good things through money but how about the poor people that are less fortunate. But praise God because our salvation doesn’t depend there. BY FAITH ALONE, BY CHRIST ALONE.
