He who professes the Lord Jesus Christ is a Christian. No matter how sinful you think he is, you have no authority to judge him

The exact oppsoite.
We are to judge the church and those who say they are in the faith.
The bereans judged Paul and his message they were considered more noble for it.
We are told to test the spirits to see if they are from God.
If a brother is sinning We are to take 2 or 3 with us and confront him, if he doesn’t turn from his sin We are to put him out of the church hoping he repents
We aren’t to judge the world, because its already been judged and found guilty.
We are absolutely to be judging the church and judging it correctly, without a beam in our eye. -
I do if they are false teachers and basterdising the gospel.

Wrong. Paul said to kick certain people out living in sexual sin.

That isn’t true. Jesus said unless a man is born again, he can not enter the kingdom of God. I know so many many many people who believe in Jesus but their lives show they are not saved. You can usually tell if a person is saved by the fruit in their lives. I mean you can’t confess Jesus is lord and keep taking drugs or continuing in sin.

I would say that its more than profession. The Apostles were first called Christians in Antioch. If we want that title, we must be Apostolic in our practice, belief and doctrine.

Are you asking, or asserting this? There are plenty of places in the New Testament that discuss judging with a sober mind, a righteous judgement, and even examples of the apostles and New Testament saints correcting behavior. This sounds like something someone tries to assert in order to avoid consequence or guilt. Happens in lots of new watered down churches.

Professors has not believed the gift of righteousness. They try to be holy but never acknowledge the righteous spirit inside. Righteousness is by faith and you say it.

Where you say “judge” do you actually mean “condem?” Every Christian with discernment has the obligation, Leviticus 19:17&18, to say a behavior is detrimental to it’s practicioners. An example would be “drunk driving causes accidents.” And of course, everyone has behaviors that are sinful, detrimental. A Christians doesn’t have to declare “they (others) get what the deserve.” No believer wants what he deserves.

No. He who *actually* follows after Christ is a Christian. Many follow after and profess a false Christ tailored to their desires. This is why knowledge and exercise of proper hermeneutics is important.

Not exactly true. When Paul said we have no business judging the world, but we are to judge those in church. Some folks he told us not to even eat with.
You will know them by their fruit…, that sounds a little judgemental.
However, then we are instructed to pray for them and if necessary remove them from the church.

Its “confess ” Jesus as Lord. Many profess to be Christians yet it’s those who CONFESS Jesus is Lord with their mouth and believe God raised Him from the dead will be saved.

I really don’t get people who say don’t judge anything. I think they must have some kind of ethical discontinuity because it is impossible to live life without making judgements.

So Judas is in heaven? Demas? Everyone who left Jesus after professing Him for months in John6:22, and Jesus asked the 12 “do you wish to leave me too” Not everyone wh says to me Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven , but those who do the will of my Father” John 7:21. We shouldnt judge people as a judge, but to test the spirits, to judge a tree by its fruits and gracefully question a peron whose pattern of living does not match a new pattern inaugerated by the new birth John3:3) Then the most loving thing , most Christlike thing we can do is question that persons profession. Thats exactly what Jesus did to the rich young ruler matthew 19:16.

What if the person who says they’re a Christian holds a leadership role in a church or faith organization and they are seen in the act of sin?

1 John 1:6 NASB“The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;”
1 John 2:4People can confess Christ Jesus to be their savior but if they live in darkness and do not obey his commandments they are lying.

We have every authority to judge (that is, examine) the fruit of that person to determine if they are genuine.
We are told, commanded actually, to guard the sheep from wolves.
And Jesus said, You will know them by their fruits.
Wolves look like sheep. They sound like sheep. They talk and act like sheep. But they are not sheep.
Satan transforms himself into an angel of light.
Wolves are crafty. It takes discernment and prayer. And sometimes it takes a while.
And if they are a sheep then I’m still a little unclear to what you mean by ‘judgement’.
The process of Matt 18 is one of judgement. And this too is commanded by Christ.
In fact, our whole existence as believers is one of judgement. When we are sinless in heaven and perfect, Paul says we will be judging angles.

Sorry, not true. We are called to expose the deeds of darkness and shine the light of Christ even in dark places. There is also something called “Church Discipline” i.e. when your brother sins against you, take it to your brother…notice it does not say when your brother sins against you, you have no authority to judge him. The scriptures are always true. We are called not to judge hypocritically but, 1 Corinthians 2:15 says, The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. – If we don’t judge sin and try to strive for purity in the Church, who will?
