How do I explain trinity to Muslim?
How do I explain trinity to Muslim?
Why even go that far – what he needs is the saviour who forgives sins. Did you know and understand Trinity at the point of your conversion?
1 being 3 person. We are 1 being, 1 person. Doesn’t mean all beings are only 1 person. That’s why God is holy and special. There is only 1 such as Him.
I wonder do the jews believe in Trinity.
Never try to explain theology to unbeliever, just preach the gospel.
God of the Bible is a partnership of a Heavenly Father, His Son – Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. They are one in what they think, say and do. 1+1+1=3 1x1x1=1
Explain to them the Godhead. They will always question you when you use the Word trinity. I don’t know why Christian’s haven’t got that already. We say it is the same thing but we are always approached with strife and debate when we say trinity.
You can’t even explain it well to a Christian…
I am a former muslim. Honestly it isn’t that hard that you think to explain. Just be patient with the time. You can help one understand.
People are more consent about trinity more more than God!
In fact this word is the most spoken word than the name of God!
Some guidelines
1) Dont get impatient or angry when they make statements like 1+1+1=3 (Polytheism Accusation) and instead try and come up with a more consistent and correct alternative equation. Since both of you believe God is infinite, all knowing etc, it should be more like
Infinity + Infinity + Infinity = Infinity (for each infinity is a person of the Trinity as far as power and essence is concerned, but all infinities add up to infinity anyways) Be clear in your explanations.
2) Come up with a variety of examples to show how two things can be made of the same substance and yet be separate, say, a Marriage, two individuals, acting as one. Or an ice cube, it has solid, liquid and vapor, yet its still water. But always emphasize that thats not EXACTLY how God operates. But that your analogies are supposed to point to the possibility of the Trinity existing. And if they are educated enough, try hardballing him with Quantum Physics.
3) Do some Polemics on their Quran, there are verses in which the Quran talks about Eternal beings aside from Allah. As well as parts of the Quran, Muhhamad himself and the Black Stone (which Muslims kiss to in the Hajj to Mecca smh). Not much I can say about this point except this is the last resort to at least show that THEY have a huge problem with Paganism Intercessors, and Associators with their god, not the Christians who can reconcile God the Son being a seperate person yet God to serve as Intercessor to the Father.
It’s not about the Trinity, but since Ravi Zacharias passed the story must be told. He was in Damascus debating a Muslim Sheik. The debate was good as always. As they were getting off the stage, the Sheik said, ”maybe Muslims need to stop wondering how Jesus died, but rather WHY Jesus died for?”
Whatever God declared as one is one. Example a Husband and wife are two people but in God’s eyes are one. Same with the trinity, although three persons but God declares as one
You don’t.
There is the Athanasius Creed. The problem is that it’s very hard for even a Christian to understand, thus impossible for the reprobate mind.
A man can be a son, brother, and father. The nature of the being is the other person in the relationship
You don’t, bring him or her through the Law of Moses and show them that they need to repent and that they need a Saviour which The Lord has provided.
With scripture. :).

A muslim will understand the Trinity ONLY When he becomes a Christian.
1 Corinthians 2:6-13
This is a good argument to use with Muslims..
God is One What and Three Whos.
There is only One God YHWH and He has three distinct persons. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit..the Father is Not the Son, the Son is Not the Father, and the Holy Spirit is Neither the Father Nor the Son.
According to Nabeel Qureshi in, “Seek Allah, finding Jesus” They have one essence or being and three separate different personalities that act in independent unity with each other.
If you read the entire bible either you can be left with contradictions, or rightly identify what YHWH is saying in His Word and accept it accordingly. Above all the scriptures are God breathed, infallible, and Absolute Truth (2 Tim 3:16). Therefore they have NO contradictions, so there must be another answer!
The scripture is clear of these four facts: All scriptures (KJV NO copyright)
1.) The Lord God is One (Deut 6:4)
2.) The Father is God (2 Peter 1:17) For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
3.) The Son is God (John 1:1,14a) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God .And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
4.) The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-5) Peter asked, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart so that you should lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back some of the money you got for the land? As long as it remained unsold, wasn’t it your own? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? So how could you have thought of doing what you did? You didn’t lie only to men, but also to God!” When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and died. And great fear seized everyone who heard about it.
From a clear exegeses of scripture we see that all three persons the Father, Son, and Spirit are called God. Does this somehow contradict Deut 6:4?
As we can see we have been forced into this view, by the text of scripture itself which is from YHWH Himself. He has made it this way and we are correct enough not to question our Creator when He says,” I am One What and Three Whos”. I can’t fathom what this means but it doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t believe it. I can’t fathom nuclear physics but I certainly believe it.
The Bible has proven itself True objectivity with the scores of fulfilled prophecies. It has likewise proven itself True subjectively, by the innumerable lives transformed by the Truth it gives..the Hope…and the Love it brings to this fallen world.
Why does this matter? What is love? We hear God is love, buy why?
We know the Bible is trustworthy because of the fulfilled prophecy and changed lives, so we then must reconcile the Oneness of God in scriptures with the scriptures that tell us the Son and the Spirit are also both God.
I think that like in so many cases in life the answer is found in LOVE. As explained by Abdu Murray “Trinity”, existenceofgod.org
In John 4:8b-9 we read the following, “Because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.” ( KJV NO copyright)
If God truly is Love and He truly is self existent or has true aseity, He would have to by necessity have the ability to love in and of Himself. But how could the One true God of Love actually love before He first brought into existence?
Are we to understand that God was not truly complete in and of Himself, and He did not love before He created an object to love? If God must create out of necessity, the need to have an objective to love, was He complete in and of Himself before He created?
God is a God of relationships, He Loves His creation and wants to have a right relationship with it.
If God is only one in nature and one in person then He would have been lacking the ability to Love from eternity past. He would have to have first created something to love before He could Love, so He couldn’t truly be perfect even in His “aseity”. Or would He even have aseity? He would not have had the capacity to have a love relationship with anyone. Except this contradicts the definition of aseity which is existing in and of self. If God couldn’t Love prior to creation, He does not have true aseity. If God is both One in nature and, and one in person then He could not have loved prior to bringing the first creature into existence. Love could have been nothing more than a concept with no real context. The God of the Bible is described as complete not lacking anything form eternity past. A God who lacks the ability to be fully complete outside of creation is not the God which the Bible has revealed to us.
In Bible, as we have shown, God has reveled himself to be One in nature and Three in persons. We have also shown that in-order to be a God of Love, God must have loved before bringing His first creation into existence. God is necessarily a triune God. Meaning it is necessary for Him to be a triune being in-order to be perfect.
The law of parsimony says that the hypotheses with the least amount of assumptions must be true. The least amount of persons you would need in-order to enjoy all three types of relationships which are self-directed, others-directed, and community-directed would be a minimum of three persons. This would mean three is the necessary number to fulfill the three types of relationships.
This is answered in the Triune nature of God as reveled in His Word.
The Father loved the Son, the Son loved the Father , the Spirit loved both who also loved each other. Living in perfect triune relational love without the need to create. This is true aseity.
Water, vapor, Ice. All water but in dif states of being.
All things are possible with Our omnipotent lord and savior . He wouldn’t be God if he couldn’t take on whatever form He chooses. For our benefit He became a man and showed what real love looks like. Jesus said you have seen me , you have seen the father. The Fathers invisible attributes were seen in the person of Jesus. God became a man and dwelt among us and by the new birth He can now dwell in us by His spirit , giving us a completely new nature , attitude , hope , love , peace and the power to overcome our carnal nature and be Christ like.
Trinity can be explained by using examples.
The United states government has 3 branches.
The executive, judicial, & legistrative. Yet it is still one country. One united states.
You have the egg
Three components make up the egg.
1. The shell, the egg white, and the yolk but all are just 1 egg, 3 in 1.
You have water.
It can be a solid, a liquid or Vapor, there different forms of the same thing. Water.
I always explain it as God has split personalities. There is only one God. But three personallies in the one God.
This thread is deeply in need of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQLfgaUoQCw&t=4s
Use Matthew 28:19 & if he won’t hear it, you are wasting your time. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
You don’t. It’s false doctrine and one of the biggest misunderstandings that leads Muslims and Jewish people to reject the gospel.
H20.. water ice steam?
Read Seeking Allah Finding Jesus, by Nabeel Qureshi. Excellent book. If you can turn a Muslin to Christianity, it will be a miracle. Their whole family will then deny them and have nothing ever to do with them again.
You can give a practical example, like the sun (God the Father) which no one can approach, but radiates heat which is unseen ( God the Holy Spirit) and light, which can be seen and causes photosynthesis (Jesus Christ ), but with all attributes contained within the sun. A Muslim neighbour asked me why we worshipped three gods, and understood the concept when I showed it to him this way.
Why is there a need to explain the Trinity to a Muslim when Jesus told us to preach His gospel?
You can’t if they can’t understand a complicated concept. They’ll just get stuck on one is one because they measure G-d against a limited human standard.
I just say G-d is unique in every way including H-s being. All knowing, everlasting, etc etc etc, all beyond what a person can comprehend. We are stuck only knowing about G-d from what he reveals about Himself. Scripture evidences the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Yet these three distinct personalities are apart of the Godhead which is One. G-d’s unique being allows for G-d to be unique in H-s nature etc etc etc.
If one limits G-d to human limitations than one can’t be anything but one. If you can imagine that G-d’s uniqueness and status as a Being gives H-m this extra ordinary ability to be three yet one than the concept of the trinity become easier to relate to and understand.
mStart with straight facts.
Let them tell you about a book that they never read.
Go back to the facts.
Let them tell you how corrupted your book is.
Stick to the facts.
Let them bad mouth you and the Christian message.
Keep to the facts.
Let them try to divert attention away from the facts.
Stay with the facts.
Let them try ad hominem attacks against you personally.
Keep on giving the facts.
They will then start quoting certain scriptures to you in an attempt to prove you wrong.
Then ask them why are they quoting out of a book that they believe is corrupted.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Then, let the silence calm you and move on to the next.
Eventually your facts will take hold and they will leave Islam.
Or something really close to this.
🙂
1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
This is one way: https://youtu.be/B5m-7ahsbPo
He must read the Bible.
Personally, I would not try to explain the Trinity until they understand the Gospel. I would start with the milk of the Word and move into the meat of the Word when they are ready
Dynamic expression of ‘one’. Holistic illustration of being. Body, mind, spirit.
Take them to quran 4:171 and ask them how it says Jesus is the Messiah, allahs Word and allahs Spirit.
” O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him… “
Tell them it is false, and share the truth of Yahweh and His Messiah, Yeshua the Son.
We as humans are a triu being mind, body ,and Spirit
I believe the Trinity doctrine is one of those post-biblical doctrines that can be a hinderance to Muslims expressing faith in Jesus as Messiah.
There is no trinity
Declare gen 1:1 and John 1:1 let the spirit do the rest
Point them to acts 17 apologetics on YouTube
Athanasian creed is the best you’re going to be able to do.
Tell them they’re committing Shirk if they say God has the characteristic of “1 being and 1 person” just like humans do.
