I like to play with numbers; just checked my old stomping ground of Illinois and the CoG population there. There are 127 CoG’s in the state of 12,880.580 residents. If each church were to divide up the population there would be 101,422 members per church. As it is CoG membership is about 0.00001 percent of the population. It is a large state reaching over 300 miles one way. The Cog has had a presence there for 80 years and I know that the A B and other state leaders have worn out a lot of cars going from one place to another within the state.
Surely the G O is right when he says that there is a need to speed up the church and to find ways that reach men in their mind, their spirit and their heart. Thousands of acres of Illinois black loome has produced a golden harvest of wheat to be gathered up this June. There is another crop awaiting harvest; will it be gathered in?
