? Word to ponder
John 3:15-16
King James Version
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 10:27-29
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. -
That makes no sense. To perish means to be done away with.
-
If God’s Grace doesn’t save nothing else will.

No

Yes

We all have eternal souls some will have eternal life others the eternal second death this is what Jesus saves us from
-
We all will be conscious somewhere for eternity
-
Saved by His love Grace and mercy.
Thanking our Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ attonning Sacrifice. Raised with Him for eternity. -
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 KJV -

Only till the 2nd judgement

Life doesn’t mean what you think it does in that context.
Christ is the author and sustainer of Life.
Death is seperation from Christ. -
No. Have you checked into the Rethinking Hell FB group?
Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death [not eternal life in hell] but the gift of God is eternal life. Note that eternal life is a gift. We don’t already have it. We are not born with an immortal soul. Plato popularized that belief.
Matthew 10:28 says we should fear the one who is able to destroy body and soul in Hell.
-
Yes it is possible, just take a look at all the warnings in the N.T. John 15:1-6 is a strong passage, Paul tells the Corinthians to “test themselves to see if they are in the faith”.
-
No, if you don’t receive eternal life/everlasting life you receive everlasting/eternal death and perish(state of constant decay or entropy).
-
The Bible speaks of 2 deaths. 1 is there death of ther physical body the second is eternal separation from God. So, in a way, yes you can perish in the sense of the second death you Spirit will continue and be eternally separated (in Hell) from God.
-
Eternal is found in Jesus we all have to die once. There are 2 deaths. The physical and then the soul death. We are saved from the second death by Jesus. I do not believe in eternal damnation. Jesus is the only way to everlasting life so it does not make sense that one who rejects Jesus (everlasting life) could be eternally alive. It’s honestly a more scriptural belief that those who reject Christ will become non existent
-
We all are going to live forever. But where you spend eternity has to do with your relationship with Jesus Christ. Accept Him as LORD or face him as Judge.
-
Define “perish”.
-
The words are interchangeable with only slight differences. Don’t get diverted from the simplicity of God’s word. He irons out the details, we simply must believe.
But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. (2Cor11:3)
-
You can physically perish, not spiritually. Our spirit man lives on with the Lord or seperated from God with satan
-
Perish and eternal life are OPPOSITES! One either perishes in the lake of fire or has eternal/everlasting life in the New Heaven and the New Earth.
-
If you renounce your allegiance to Messiah, or behave in a manner that indicates you never received salvation.
Kind of redundant.
-
Loss of salvation is a doctrine of demons. You cannot lose salvation.
-
Eternal life now
For those who teach that salvation may be lost please state where in scripture these words and verses have been reversed. If the lie that you teach is true then everlasting life is only temporary and on a trial basis. Returning to the law to keep your salvation means Ga 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.Joh 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Joh 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Joh 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? -
Our souls are eternal. It is just a matter of where you’ll spend it.
-
No. Hell is destroyed in lake of fire. John 3:15-16. The end of unsaved man is perishing. They are cast from the presence of the Lord forever.
-
It would be a contradiction.
To perish is to go to hell away from God because of unbelief.
To attain eternal life in reference to salvation is to be with God in Heaven for eternity. -
John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: That they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
When we believe in Jesus, God the Father breathes His life into our dead spirit, bringing it to life, and The Holy Spirit of God Himself takes up residence in our body. What God has made alive, no made can make dead again.
Once you become a child of God, you can NEVER be anything else.
Just as no behavior of ours can make us alive, no behavior of ours can make us dead again. Once you are saved, you are eternally saved. -
Those who go to hell have eternal death. Eternal means without end. Consequently, no one could have eternal life and then be damned to hell.
-
Oxymoron. Eternal means forever. Not possible to end

If Salvation is a free gift, then we owe God nothing for it! If our Salvation rests in ANY WAY on our behavior, then it is no longer a free gift. All obedience, growth, and movement towards holiness is the RESULT of our Salvation, not a way to earn it nor to keep it.
God is not a petulant child who takes His ball (eternal life) and runs home when we fail. If Salvation depends on us, in any way, we are ALL lost. How is that good news?
2 Timothy 2:13
If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -
No if you are saved you will live ETERNALLY with Christ and the rest of us in the New Heaven and New Earth. That’s a Hallelujah
-
Those two words mean the same thing
-
Our earthly bodies perish but our soul is eternal.
-
Our corrupted bodies will be resurrected incorruptible.
-
No…but your question may cause you to perish!
-
Well…if Hell means literally eternal conscious torment…then….yes.
-
Life doesn’t mean what we think of in this context
-
Nowhere does the Bible teach that the lost have eternal life. Immortality is what God only has, and he gives it to believers. The words to describe the fate of the lost is NOT “spending eternity” somewhere, because they do not have immortality. The words used over and over again are “death”…”destruction”…and “perish.” Guess what…these words actually mean what they say! Look at Matthew 10:28, Romans 6:23, John 3:16, I Timothy 6:16, I Corinthians 15; 53-54. Eternal life is a gift from God to the saved.
-
Everyone has everlasting life. And will spend it either in Heaven or Hell!
-
Those who do not obey Christ will die the second death. They perish.
-
Only in.the flesh.. not in the spirit
-
No. The wages of sin is death. Guess what that means…it means death. Not “eternal life separated from God.” The Bible never says that the unsaved have eternal life, nor does it say they have an immortal soul. See Romans 6:23, John 3:16, Matthew 10:28.
