If I’m evangelising should I be serious or I can use jokes and examples of life these days comparing to the Bible. Like bringing Bible stories to life so the person who is being evangelised could unserstand it better?

You can have fun with it but remember it is the Holy Spirit that is really doing the evangelizing and teaching.

depends on where you are. Observe them socially and maybe use examples of their society. All Scripture has been fulfilled already and 2 Tim 3:16 states that all scripture “,,,is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
Show the audience relevance and how it also can apply to them from a 2 Tim 3:16 perspective

You can insert jokes but not much. And make sure you dont go away with from the gospel.

It’s perfectly fine to be witty, but do not loose focus on your message.
If you do, you will become the joke, not the message. -
I always try to meet people where they are. If that means bringing some humor to your evangelism then that’s what it is!?

When Jesus used the example of people drinking from a glass and then say some would strain to avoid swallowing a gnat but swallow a camel instead, I think that was humorous but gave a clear meaning of what he was talking about. Right?

Dear brother, my lovely pastor do tell us that “we should tell/share our story when evangelising. How did you get saved or been born-again? This ‘re the fact’s he told us even if we dont know much of the bible verses, but at least, ya testimony ‘ll inspired a stranger out there.”
You can apply this & God bless u & increase ya wisdom for doing His business.

I don’t think that it is wrong to have a sense of humour when it comes to evangelism, as long as the humour is not crude or insulting in any way, I’m 6’3″ with quite a large build and one day whilst I was witnessing to another man about the Gospel and Gods redeeming love he commented that I did not look like the type of person who would be a Christian , my response to him was to explain my joy and relief that God has chosen to overlook the fact that I was ugly . ?

God gave us a sense of humor so why not. However in our daily walk it does warn against foolish jesting which can lead to more ungodliness. Everything except for sin moderation.

I heard a famous theologian once say we must not take ourselves too seriously but we must take God very seriously.

Definitely, but just make sure that the gospel is being taken seriously. You can utilize humor to point out how sinful we are and that all we do is sin

Many of us use humor. There’s absolute nothing wrong with humor and using it anytime. Some people are so serious and are convinced humor has no place in life that they’re so heavenly minded that they’re actually no earthly good. Sad but true. Bringing bible stories to life is extremely powerful. I talk about the emotions of bible characters all the time. Example, what were the thoughts of the Roman soldiers who were given the orders to trim the wood that was going to be specifically used for Christ? “Hey, put a rush on this one, he’s going straight to the front of the line.” Some people say that’s cynical or even blasphemus, I couldn’t disagree more. It’s an HONEST assessment. Not everything that took place in the bible was done in reverence for God/Christ and it’s time we actually face and acknowledge that.
