If Peter was the first pope, why did he remain silent when he was rebuked by Paul? Why did he not excommunicate Paul or have him burned at the stakes?

This is not an apologetics question.

If Peter was the first pope, why was he married?

Studying church history will clear up a bunch of the questions. The idea of a pope and what we know it as today didn’t come about until a few centuries after the Apostles died.
-
Here is a nice book of the subject

Peter wasn’t the first pope. He called himself elder.
-
Peter didn’t know he was a Pope…
-
Don’t come on here and try to confuse us with facts!! ?

Ah, a scandal not based on dogma now undermines papal infallibility and Peter’s authority? Lol… maybe start at the basics and look at papal infallibility.
-
Because he had it coming. He later complimented Paul like a humble pope should. He was rebuked for hypocritical behavior. Even a few years ago four cardinals wrote a public correction of Pope Francis called a dubia. But even then not casting doubt that he is the pope.

Peter wasn’t a pope. Catholicism as we know it didn’t exist until around 300 ad

Catholics teach Peter was the first Pope.
Catholics also teach an array of other UNBIBLICAL, man made doctrines as well, such as:
1) Salvation is based on works
2) its acceptable to pray to anybody but God
3) Infants can be water baptized
4) A priest can forgive sins.
5) Purgatory is an actual place (rendering Christs work at the cross insufficient)
……. I can go on and on. Remember what the Bible teaches:
“If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.”

Where is this found?

Catholicism was established much later. Further more, being a follower of God does not mean you are never wrong. It would be foolish to never take correction.
-
Because Peter isn’t the first pope. That’s Catholic tradition, not biblical teaching.
-
If Peter was the first pope I will eat my hat. The Catholic Church teaches that the church was built on Peter but it was not, it was built on Peter’s confession, that Jesus was the son of the Living God. The church is built on the Cornerstone AKA Christ

Can anyone produce evidence Peter was ever in Rome?
-
It never takes man’s knowledge to understand the scriptures but by the power of the Holy Ghost.
Peter was never a Pope… please do away such belief! Please don’t see it like m criticizing but I gat say the truth. Read Matthew 16:16-19….then you gonna understand why Christ deligated his power and authority unto Peter -
Peter was never the first Pope.
-
Peter is the first pope?
Where is that in the bible? -
It’s because Apostle is always been led by the spirit, wise leader

Archaeology just rebutted you all ?:

Peter wasn’t a pope, that’s Catholic doctrine. The pope (according to Catholic doctrine) intercedes between God and man and even tells man “3 prayers to Mary …..” or whatever is needed for some kind of restitution. Restitution has already been made through the death and resurrection of Christ and for anyone to say that additional restitution needs to be made is LITERALLY saying that Christ’s sacrifice was not enough.
