I’m having a “dialogue” with a Jehovah Witness cousin of mine and I believe they have a unique stance on Gods original purpose for people and for the earth. What does a seasoned trinitarian apologetic say about Gods original purpose for man and earth? Provide scripture if you can please. Thanks in advance.

First thing you should be asking is does the JW position on original purpose come from scripture or from the watch tower society.

I think they gotta correct their Trinity doctrine first.

Jehovah’s witnesses are sincere but sincerely wrong…confused more likely as they agree that God who they rightly call Jehovah created the heavens an the earth ( Gen 1 ) but when you challenge them about John 1-4 about who he actually is…they claim that the Word was a god and not God himself as put in AMP classified version ( verse 1 ). Then there are some obvious contradictions when they say

God the Father chose certain individuals to form a Body as a gift to Jesus Christ. Every believer is part of that love gift to Christ — a gift of the Father’s love to His Son.
He created everything out of nothing in order to put His glory on display for the delight of His created beings and that they might declare His greatness.

Hi…the implication of their version of John 1 would imply that there are more than one God, a greater and then a.lesser one who actually created everything…then in Isaiah 45 v 21-22 Jehovah admits that he alone is God refuting their version of John 1 v 1. Isaiah 43 v 11 Jehovah declares he alone will save his.people…the question of course is we know that he did this as Jesus upon the cross but they can’t see that he is one and the same ( one God, 3 persons ) then another scripture Jehovah declares he is the king of Israel ( Isaiah 44 v 6 ) and Jehovah Jehovah’s witnesses yet in Zechariah the prophet tells Israel to behold their king, lowly riding on a colt??? We know who fulfilled this prophecy? And in the same scripture Isaiah 44 v 6 it says he is the first and the last…compare Revelation 22 v 13. Hope this is o.k.? Should get them thinkin

Now…getting that straight with them as it is imperative to correct erroneous doctrine…then you can discuss purpose…in a nutshell we were created in his image with freewill so that man ( seen ) can eventually accurately put on display the unseen God ( observed in his creation, man ).

They don’t believe Jesus and the Father are one. Refer the to John ch 1.
Also their founder believed the great pyramid at Giza was something that could prophesy the end of the world, but measuring it and applying crazy math to it

they were called the
“Russellites.” not Jehovah witness , that name came after charles Russell died , his good friend J.F. Rutherford started calling the belief Jehovah Witness and within that year 1917 the group split up .. Jesus is not the Arch angel Michael ,Angels don’t create things ..

I’ve debated Jehovah’s witnesses there a cult talk heresy. Tricks with words. Same with Mormons.

John 14:1-6
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Tell them that JESUS will return from Heaven to take Christians into Heaven. -
Have done a ton of research on JW and they do have it all messed up. Just about everything they believe is twisted to some extent.
They say that God didn’t know Adam and Eve would sin. That would contradict him being all knowing…
Have had this conversation before and going to list the scriptures I referenced for studying that subject. Some may help and some not, but anything I can do to help!
Romans 9:22-24
Isaiah 46:9-10
Psalm 139:1-6
Acts 2:23
Ephesians 1:3-10
Genesis 50-20
Psalm 19:1
Romans 1:18-25
Revelation 20:7-10
2 Peter 3:9
1 John 4:9-16
1 Corinthians 2:9
Now I’m not sure all those are directly related, but they are all the scriptures I had written down for the study on God’s purpose after reading their”Bible teach” book about it.Have a lot of scriptures for different topics and also blue letter Bible is a great resource. Under the tab about cults.
Stay strong, God already won. Even if you don’t change their mind, it’s all about the seeds you plant.Discussing who the Creator is really is a good topic with them because the Bible clearly shows Jesus created all things but they deny it with all they have.
God bless -
