I’m not saying anything is special or behind this, but it’s sad to see so many influential people passing away. We’re seeing giants go to rest. For the past three years, here are five of those giants.
Dr. R.C Sproul: 1939-2017
Reformed theologian who participated in making the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy. Considered one of the most prominent theologians of the past fifty years.
Rev. Billy Graham: 1918-2018
Evangelist who started the Billy Graham Evaneglistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse. Preached the Gospel to millions, and through the Gospel the Civil Rights Movement gained ground and the Cold War came to an end.
Dr. Norman Geisler: 1932-2019
The most influential Christian apologist from the late 20th century until his passing. A founder of two schools, Norman Geisler International Ministries, crafter of the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy, wrote or co-wrote over 100 books, and taught hundreds of students who have gone on to teach millions.
Phillip E. Johnson: 1940-2019
Considered the Godfather of Intelligent Design. Co founded the Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture.
Ravi Zacharias: 1946-2020
One of the greatest communicators and Christian apologists of the 21st century, and one of Dr. Geisler’s students. Founded Ravi Zacharias International Ministries.
