No, You will remain encumbered with a sin-nature as long as your spirit is constrained by this body of decaying flesh corrupted by the seed of our father, Adam. As a “born again” believer, you do have a “new-nature” that is given you by the indwelling Holy Spirit who teaches you and guides you in the way of sanctification but the old sin-nature lurks and awaits the opportunity to deceive you in your lust and aberrant desires. The Apostle Paul describes his battle with the old-nature in Romans 7.

Until we are with the Father and Son, perfectly sanctified in sinless bodies, we will not live a perfect life. Perfectly saved. Yep. Not sinless.

Words matter. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Your idea of regeneration and my idea of regeneration maybe two different things, perfection? What does that mean to you? King David was perfect he was the apple of God’s eye yet he was a great sinner. But when David repented he left nothing out, he was all-in. Words matter. Perspective, perception, perspective is what end of the barrel you’re looking down, perception is what gets you shot.

The answer is No! We don’t seek to live a perfect life here on Earth but we will be perfect on the second coming of Jesus Christ! The Bible says that we will be like Him!
And does not mean that we have to stop seeking Holiness, but those who seeks to be like him today through of course the work of the Holy Spirit in them are the one who will be like him on the day of the Lord -
So what got me thinking about this (and look I’m not one of those perfectionist people who believes he’s perfectly holy once I was save…life has a way of proving this conflict that the Apostle Paul was, as we are, fighting in Romans 7) was in my study though Romans 6:6-7 this morning these amazing words: “We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin.”
It struck me that we are no longer enslaved to sin, we are freed from it! The mass of sin has been brought to nothing.
And it made me praise God because he has saved us so thoroughly that it is indeed a possibility, if not for the weakness of the flesh, to live a life perfectly pleasing to God.
Yes, I grow weary of sin in my life but I think the reason the Lord allows sin’s presence is for us to overcome by the strength of his Word and the power of the HS.
I guess this was what I was getting around to. -
No sinless perfection in this life. While experiencing Romans 7 be sure to focus on Romans 8.

The word perfect doesn’t mean sinless. It’s a Greek word called Telios, which means complete. No where in the Bible are we rendered sinless. We are rendered in the righteousness of Christ and we have been JUSTIFIED. there is therefore NO CONDEMNATION.

Christ did not promise his people that they will be perfect, but they have a new nature apart from their sinful one. Death remains the last enemy Christ will defeat when either He comes for His church or we ‘sleep’ till He returns.

It is possible. God says “if we sin”. He chose the word IF purposely. His words are no accident. Though, it would not be easy, but it is possible. He also said we can do all things through Christ who strenghteneth us. There is no limit to God. We must always remember that.

No. The flesh will not be redeemed until we die or are raptured. The flesh is sin.

Imho to be “perfect” is to always do what I feel is right when faced with a decision. Of course that wont make literally perfect. But thats how I interpret that verse.

Even then, the sanctification process is still not completed, until we get to glory. The Apostle Paul makes that very clear.

There are some who believe you can reach spiritual perfection, I know the Assembly of God church teaches this doctrine. Really interesting considering they are Aminian in there salvation beliefs. Seems like an oxymoron when you consider you believe you can lose your salvation but also achieve spiritual perfection and sinlessness.

Yes. God says be yr perfect as I am perfect and be yes holy as I am holy. God would not tell us to do something we couldn’t do . That would be unfair and God is a fair God. Also He says IF you sin He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin and cleanse us of unrighteousness.

A believer is in state of grace. Remaining sin still troubles believers. They will completely be freed from sin in the state of glory.

Not now as the two natures (sinless and sinful)conflict in the life of a believer. To a believer, perfection will be at glorification.
