Baptism is necessary for salvation.

“It is NOT the Church, but God alone, that forgives sins, and, as a rule, indeed, this is ONLY done through baptism”
-Adolph Harnack, Professor, Halle University

“It is true that the thought was still present, that sinlessness rests upon a new moral creation (the new birth) which is realized in baptism;”–Ref: Outlines of the History of Dogma, pgs46,47

  1. Ed Weems says:

There is nothing Supernatural about baptism, baptism is symbolism for a supernatural event that will take place at the last trumpet. Baptism represents death burial and Resurrection to eternal life. Baptism represents salvation. We are not saved now we are in the process of being saved and we will be saved if if if and on to the end. Salvation happens in a moment in the twinkling of an eye 1st Corinthians 15 which is also being born from above, being born of God, being born of the spirit and those that do not understand this truth are the very ones that add their own words the 1st John 5:18, 1st John 3 verse 9 because they cannot understand how anyone can not sin oh, so that your Scratch Out God’s words, cannot sin and they write in their own words, whoever is born of God does not practice does not continue to send completely corrupting these two passages. When we are born of God we are no longer flesh because God is Not flesh, God is Spirit and according to John 3 whatever is born from Spirit is spirit and that is why everyone and 1st Corinthians 15:35 to 50 who are being born of God are no longer flesh but spirit.
