Life at God’s Pace
Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. The infant of Krypton is now the Man of Steel: Superman!
_Movie tagline of Superman (1941)
Do a wordsearch with your bible software or concordance and you will not find microwave, jet, car, and certainly not a speeding bullet. But you will find the occasional camel and even rarer donkey.
Mostly that cloud of dust off in the distance is someone stirring up a little dust as they walk.
Perhaps that is why, on average, Jesus Christ is so unpopular and unheeded among the jet set. They can’t slow down long enough to listen to Him much less get to know Him.
This I do know, the Christian faith work best for the plodder and plugger…that guy or gal who just gets up each day and puts one foot in front of the next trusting God to lead the way on His time table and at His discretion.
The ONE THING for today: Jesus does not promise his followers a fast lane or shortcut, but He does promise always to make a way…one step of faith at a time.
You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
