Michael and Elaine Shreve, Associate Missionaries to the Philippines
Michael and Elaine are looking forward to returning to the Philippines in early 2022. They both served Word for the World for several years in the late 90’s – early 2000’s. They returned to the States to start a non-profit in Philadelphia, PA. After a few years, they relocated to Stone Mountain, GA where they served as senior pastors of Mountain West Church of God for the past 15 years. MWC has experienced 15 years of growth and has been described as one of the most diverse churches in the US. At God’s invitation, Michael and Elaine are stepping out of this great church, leaving a healthy, thriving, growing body to pursue what God has next for them. They desire to take what God has taught them and raise up leaders to plant life-giving, Spirit-filled churches across SE Asia.
Elaine is a family therapist specializing in trauma therapy. She has served as children’s pastor, worship leader, and family ministries pastor. She is also a leadership coach and speaker. Along with being a pastor, Michael is a leadership and church consultant. They are excited about this new season of ministry as they help lead Word for the World and focus on raising up church planters in SE Asia.
Michael and Elaine have five children. Chelsey, Josiah, and Luke are all young adults making a difference in the world as God has gifted them. Brandon (14) and Zuri (7) are both excited and a little nervous about this next step, so please say a prayer for them.
Michael and Elaine, thank you in advance for your prayers. And if God has put ministry in this part of the world on your heart, be sure and connect with them.
