My heart goes out to struggling Church of God pastors….
My heart goes out to struggling Church of God pastors. I have been there and know the sacrifice they pay to the work of the church. I know the bitterness that evolves from years of toiling. I know the struggle of scraping up a retirement plan that is borderline poverty. The majority of COG pastors who have faithfully preached and pastored are living in poverty. I don’t know the statistics but I believe it would be staggering to know the percentages of struggling pastoral salaries.
In defense of myself I know that my failed financial status was due to my failures which were many and it could have been avoided. It wasn’t the fault of the congregations I pastored. It was the leadership I provided and much of that was faulty. I am not the exception but the general rule of COG ministers.
How do you think this breaks down statistically?
