MY THOUGHTS!
“Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. For THE WISDOM OF THIS WORLD IS FOOLISHNESS IN GOD’S SIGHT. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; and again, “THE LORD KNOWS THAT THE THOUGHTS OF THE WISE ARE FUTILE.” (1 Corinthians 3:18-20) [Do not be led away from the truth and simplicity of the gospel by those who claim science and eloquence, by a show of deep learning, or a flourish of words, by “religious leaders”, speechmakers, or philosophers.” Take notice, We are in danger of deceiving ourselves when we have too high an opinion of human wisdom and arts; what we need is PLAIN AND PURE Christianity which will likely be despised by those who can twist their doctrines to the corrupt taste of their hearers, and entice them with fine language, or support them with a show of deep and strong reasoning!] “For the word of God IS ALIVE and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, IT PENETRATES even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; IT JUDGES THE THOUGHTS AND ATTITUDES OF THE HEART.” (Hebrews 4:12) [By the word of God we may understand either the essential (living word – Jesus) or the written word: the essential Word, who in the beginning was with God, and was God (Joh_1:1), the Lord Jesus Christ, and indeed what is said in this verse is true concerning him; but most understand it of the written word, the holy scriptures, which are also of course the word of God!] “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, THROUGH THE LIVING AND ENDURING WORD OF GOD. For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER.” And this is the word that was preached to you.” (1 Peter 1:23-25) [The word of God lives and stands forever. This word is a living word, or a lively word. The word is a means of spiritual life, to begin it and preserve in it, bring us to life and stimulating us in our duty, till it brings us to eternal life: and it is abiding; it remains eternally true, and abides in the hearts of the redeemed forever. the only way to renew life so we are solid and incorruptible is for us to love and receive the word of God; for the word of God is everlasting truth, and, if received, will preserve us to everlasting life, and abide with us forever!] “You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; YOU PERCEIVE [see and know] MY THOUGHTS FROM AFAR. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely.” (Psalms 139:1-4)
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that HE WILL TEACH US TO THINK ABOUT THE WORD OF THE LORD, BECAUSE IT ENDURES FOREVER!
