OH SAY CAN YOU SEE?

WORKING IN US

BLESSED ARE YOUR EYES BECAUSE THEY SEE, and your ears because they hear. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.” (Matthew 13:16-17) [It is because of our willingness to hear the word of God and DO what it says that our eyes see, our ears hear. The disciples saw the glory of God in the person of his son Jesus, we see the glory of God as we become more and more intimate with Jesus; the disciples heard the mind of God in the doctrine Jesus was teaching them; they saw much, and were eager to see more, and thereby were prepared to receive further instruction; they had opportunity for it because they were constant followers of Jesus Christ, so let us be constant, consistent and committed, to Jesus Christ our Lord!] “The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. WHOEVER HAS WILL BE GIVEN MORE, AND THEY WILL HAVE AN ABUNDANCE. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.” (Matthew 13:10-12) [Jesus tells them, that he preached by parables, because the things of God were made more plain and easy to them who were willingly uninformed; therefor the gospel would be a savor of life to some, and of death to others. A parable, like the pillar of cloud and fire that stood between the children of Israel and the Egyptians, turned a dark side towards Egyptians, which confounded them, but a light side towards Israelites, which comforted them, and so these parables had a double intention. The same light guides the eyes of some, but astounds the eyes of others. It depends upon our WILLINGNESS TO RECEIVE the word of God!] “His divine power has given us EVERYTHING WE NEED for a godly life THROUGH OUR KNOWLEDGE OF HIM WHO CALLED US BY HIS OWN GLORY and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ADD to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, THEY WILL KEEP YOU FROM BEING INEFFECTIVE AND UNPRODUCTIVE IN YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.” (2 Peter 1:3-8)

Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that WHAT WE ADD TO OUR FAITH WILL KEEP US FROM BEING INEFFECTIVE AND UNPRODUCTIVE IN OUR KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST! – Bill Stockham
