She continued her education by working on her Master’s Degree at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and even at the age of 77, she was taking classes at Lee University to get her TESOL certification.
She ministered alongside of her husband Reverend Bryan Hersey in the countries of Brazil, Mexico, and Ecuador as international missionaries. However, she also was a devoted Church of God minister’s wife while her husband pastored in Elberton, GA, Garden City Church of God near Savannah, GA, Odum Church of God in Odum, GA, the Living Waters Church of God in North Tazewell, VA, and the New Covenant Fellowship Church of God in Tazewell, VA.
She enjoyed sharing her love of the Lord with everyone and praying for the needs of others she met in hospitals and doctors’ offices even while battling cancer. She was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God where she was an active member of the Peacemakers Sunday School Class.
1 Peter 4:11 “If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and power for ever and ever. Amen.”
She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Goswick (Jeff), Lori Howe (Chris), and Alisha England (Steven); grandchildren Kristin Howe, Lauren Howe, Ethan Goswick, Josiah Goswick, William England, Blake England and Kyle England; brother Jerald Guthrie.
