Does doctrinal difference affect the eternal outcome of a person as taught in any denomination? I realized that denominations teach different doctrines. Can that have an impact on the judgement day? Remember doctrine is the reason of the lifestyle.
Hi. I believe there are essential doctrines and most denominations have them in common. We squabble about the minor doctrines that are not essential to salvation, like women wearing hats in church, and free will and predestination, or infant babtism.
Look at the 7 denominations in the book of Revelations and see what they had in common, and what set them apart

Jesus dispensed with legalism but upheld obedience. I think if we seek obedience without legalism we’ll find the Holy Spirit to guide us through a path designated for our discipleship.
Samuel, I don’t think you were referring to the issues these people raised regarding your OP. Yes, different doctrines can determine what happens on the day of judgment. There are 41, 000 different denominations of christianity operating throughout the world and all of them don’t agree with each other. They tell a little truth as not to be so obvious about the lies they tell. That’s how they deceive God’s flock. Not everyone is a true Christian, even if they tell you they are. Jesus said beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing and false prophets. The atheists you know about but a pretender you have to be careful of. May God and Jesus be with you brother.
We are called to only live by the doctrine of The Bible…to add or take away or to form another doctrine to suit what you want to believe in absolutely will affect your judgement day and whether you go to heaven or not.

Salvation is had through faith in Christ and obedience to his commandments. If you love him with all your heart soul mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourselves nothing wrong with a lil wonky theology. At the same time I believe that Gen 1 is not literal nor do I believe in eternal conscious torment. Some would say because of my gen 1 beliefs that I am not saved. My wife has told me that she was worried about my salvation because of my beliefs on hell.
I think everyone will have different opinions on it but I think mine are correct ???
If you have a different Christ for an example, Jehovah’s witnesses, Mormons, etc. You do not have the Biblical Christ and you have no salvation. You worship a false Christ. One who cannot save you.
Define doctrine first please.
It might have an impact on what you think is going to happen when you get there. A lot of denominations want to add to what it takes to be saved some have a wrong view of who Jesus is. Those might be problematic but the vast majority of differences between denominations are secondary issues. I don’t think God will care if you think Genesis is literal or metaphorical.

The differences in doctrines come from differences in interpreting Scripture. Some theological views from Scripture are considered heretical and some are legitimately heretical. The legitimate heresies are damning because they are either falsely teaching God’s Word or they are calling God a liar. Jesus said it would be better for some to be drown in the bottom of the sea than lead someone astray/cause their faith to stumble.

I’m sure some doctrines make a difference. Why take a chance?
The Bible as a collection of books is largely in symbols, figurative, and parables, which propels a ground for different interpretation.
The main thing is not a doctrine, that is secondary. Primarily all of us regardless of denominations, or sects, or type of Christian we are called to love God, and love others.
God loves us, we receive his love, by receiving his son and the Holy Spirit, then we live according to love, we must interpret scriptures through love lenses, and be driven by culture of love.
The focus is the Kingdom.
it depends on the doctrine in question. If one denies Jesus as God or denies His resurrection then it is definitely affected as those are essential doctrines to salvation.
I agree with Dwight above. It depends on the doctrine. HOWEVER, the only requirement to get into heaven is actually the accept of Christ’s death and resurrection. Some MIGHT go as far to include His teachings as well, but I don’t go that far since some believers don’t live long enough to have time to develop a decent grasp of His teachings. Example, a death bed conversion. If anyone denies the basic tenets of Christianity as doctrine, then that’s a serious problem.
