Our hearts are troubled as we receive reports and watch the war that has escalated in the past week in the Holy Land. We stand united in our support of Israel as a nation and condemn the terroristic acts of violence that have been carried out against innocent people over the last few days. As you know, the Church of God has vibrant ministries throughout the Holy Land, reaching both Israelis and Palestinians, including a ministry center on the Mount of Olives, a school in the West Bank founded by Missionary Margaret Gaines, and a ministry to help Jewish people return to their homeland. In spite of the war, the Church of God’s ministries in Israel are continuing. To provide you and your congregation with more in depth insights about some of our current efforts in the Holy Land, I recently spoke with Dr. Michael Utterback, director and founder of Ministry to Israel. While the entire discussion can be seen on our social media platforms, I have attached two shorter versions of the video that you may want to share with your local church family during your weekend services. I request that you and your congregation pray for a rapid de-escalation of the violence and for peace in the Holy Land (Psalms 122:6), as well as encourage financial support of the Church of God’s efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to Israel during this time of crisis.
