The Amazing “Responsum Interruptus,” SOP of Today :: By Dave Hubley

(There is a special message at the end of this article for those who might happen to read this and do not have Jesus in their life and are looking for peace and a way to better understand the present-day insanity and confusion.)

In the event you are getting your “news” from what was formerly seen as the bulwark of American liberty but is now, I believe, rightly viewed as anathema to every principle of what is necessary to maintain a free nation: I think, a tactic that has become SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) on the part of the “mainstream media” needs to be exposed to the light of day, as it is systematic and opposed to any semblance of decency. More importantly, it distracts and adds confusion to even those who possess a Christian worldview.

What, you may be wondering, does this subject have to do with a Christian worldview and a prophecy website?

Quite a lot, actually. See (2 Timothy 3:1-5) for an accurate analysis of today’s culture.

Perhaps my point can be made by including the lyrics of a Christian kid’s Sunday school song that I’ll bet every believer is familiar with:

“Oh, be careful, little eyes, what you see,
Oh, be careful, little eyes, what you see.
There’s a Father up above looking down in tender love,
Oh, be careful, little eyes, what you see.

Oh, be careful, little ears, what you hear,
Oh, be careful, little ears, what you hear.
There’s a Father up above looking down in tender love,
Oh, be careful, little ears, what you hear.” Emphasis added.

We are told the following by the Living Word of God, in the written Word of God:

“Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it” (Luke 18:17 + parallel verses Matthew 18:3/Mark 10:15).

What is the most notable trait of a little child? It is trust of parents. And God is the Father of all who receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.

So, the value of this children’s song is threefold:

  • It is based on and encourages wisdom and discernment.
  • It is fun to sing, and it is easy to keep in our minds and hearts.
  • Its lyrics are words to live by without regard to one’s age.

There is another old quote that should be considered here as well, only it was attributed to Adolf Hitler and some of his associated monsters. We should be extra wary of it today:

If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.”

And that has become the “modus operandi,” the SOP of the modern culture.

The primary point of the Christian children’s song above is its warning to “beware” of harmful and ungodly sources of visual and audible information and content.

The title of this article is a combination of two Latin words that I looked up on the internet. I’m certainly no scholar, so I may have accidentally mangled the proper Latin order and custom of literary expression. Despite that, they seem to go together like PB+J.

It makes reference to a tactic employed by left-leaning or left-screaming news interviewers, talk shows, democrat congressional committee procedures, and the like, as their SOP. It’s not difficult to find. Just turn on your TV, and then, hopefully, turn it off.

It is blatantly obvious, and it generally follows this very predictable wash/rinse/repeat cycle.

1) Ask a question(?) by making it into a long-winded diatribe where the “asker/interviewer” essentially tries to program the “guest/askee” with what they want them to agree with.

2) After making their long-winded declaration and expounding on it, wasting as much of the guest’s time as possible, they pause ostensibly to allow the “askee” to (begin to) respond.

3) After only enough words on the part of the “guest/askee” are spoken so that the “asker” can determine that they are not getting the response they want, they immediately execute step 4.

4) Interrupt and/or shriek over the guest until they (due to their generally attempting to be polite and respectful) pause, waiting for one of three things to happen.

  1. The “interviewer” to run out of deflecting and blathering tactics.
  2. The “interviewer” to give another lecture disguised as a question (see step 2).
  3. The “interviewer” to inform/remind, the guest (if they have the audacity to ask the “askee” a germane question) that they (the “interviewer”) are the ONE asking the questions here (commonly in a very condescending manner) and then cut the guest off and end the farcical “dog and pony show” (an unintended act of mercy?).

Thus, the aptly applied term: “Responsum Interruptus.”

Another characteristic of this phenomenon is the “group shriek.” Several participants in these talk show group-type formats will suddenly explode in a gaggle of blathering, shouting, shrieking, and arm-waving, typically at someone who is trying to make a pertinent point. This is truly amazing – but the result of this squall of lunacy has a positive outcome, in my opinion: None of the “shriekers” can be understood.

Sometimes good things come in loud and frantic packages.

This is, most often, the order of battle (and it is a battle, make no mistake). It is a battle for the heart and soul of truth (from the human perspective).

What is the real purpose of this frenzied activity? Is it pursuit of facts? Can it be referred to as journalism? Accurate dissemination of information? In my view, it is none of those things, but instead, it is distribution of verbal propaganda and a literal demonstration of what is meant by “delusional.”

“You can fool some of the people some of the time…,” so the old saying goes, but it now requires modification.

“You can fool far too many of the people much of the time…”

In this day, there are far too many who are easily deceived because there are far too many people who have rejected the Empirical Truth found in the Word of God.

It is out of control, debased, Godlessness with a lot of Trump Derangement Syndrome thrown in. The worst of it is that they think what they are doing is right.

“Right” in 2025 bears little resemblance to what was taught in the Word of God.

These modern-day tactics do not affect God’s Truth in the least, but it does cause the listeners, watchers (victims) to pick sides, whether they realize it or not.

Those who truly are God’s Sons and Daughters should have already done so: The side of Truth.

For those with no Biblical discernment, things are not going to end well.

As the little children’s song suggests, avoidance of deception and maliciousness is undoubtedly the wisest strategy.

You may have detected a small degree of sarcasm in this post.

But I believe it is sarcasm without deviating from the point.

Now to the crux of this article.

Situational awareness is more critical than ever at this present time, as deception and lying, omission of truth (a malicious form of lying), and innuendo are no longer the exception but have become the rule. It is the world’s SOP. Just as the Word of God indicates it will become in these latter years.

It is almost at the point where, even when we sleep, we must continue wearing the full armor of God.

Praying without ceasing and reading your Bible daily are the only trustworthy ways to stay strong, resist the lies of this collapsing world, and discern the Truth, enduring until we hear the call of the Blessed Hope to “Come up here.”

As an additional thought:

After having briefly observed the recent State of the Union address by President Trump, it may be wise to ban Democrats from ownership of ping-pong paddles.

In retrospect, however, their moronic conduct may have proved useful in confirming the Truth of Psalms 14:1 and 53:1:

“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.”

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.

And, what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
