The Antichrist will be the 8th king and of the seven former kings (Rev 17). The Vatican, according to scripture, has 7 kings but the 8th king is the Antichrist. Vatican City became it’s own country in 1929. Since 1929 the Vatican has had exactly 7 kings. Benedict is the 7th king who was to reign for a short time. When Benedict resigned Francis took His position as the 7th king even though Francis is actually king #8. So Francis is literally the 8th king and of the seven. When Benedict passes away Francis will officially become the 8th king and the Antichrist.
