THE TRIBULATION DAYS
By Mrs. S. P. Perkins
In the tribulation days,
After the rapture has taken place,
There will be awful pain and suffering
For the ones left here to face.
But now they will take no heed
To anything we can do or say.
The .Bible they will not read,
Nor will they kneel and pray.
But, nevertheless, tribulation days
Are coming upon this old earth.
And oh! what pain and suffering
If you’ve not received the new birth!
So, dear sinner, won’t you come
Lay down your heavy load of sin,
Clean up that life of yours
And let the Savior come in?
For the storms of life are raging; The billows tossing high;
And sinners will soon be crying,
“Oh, Lord, save! Lest we die.”

-from the Church of Evangel, Nov. 20, 1943

“But, nevertheless, tribulation days
Are coming upon this old earth.
And oh! what pain and suffering
If you’ve not received the new birth!”

Question: What is the view of the COG about qualifications for the rapture. This poem states is that you must receive the new birth. Do you have to be sanctified? This is a trick discussion question. This poem was penned in 1943 when COG had different views than what it has today.
