The Way the Gospel Message is Intended to be Presented

Prelude

The churches in America have lost their spiritual mooring, which explains the falling away as predicted by the bible in the end time. And to get back right with God there is only one way and that is to return to the Apostle’s Doctrine Given them by Jesus Christ.

This idea we don’t need what they had on the day of Pentecost is one of the most fallacious arguments in Christianity today in America. There is no place in the bible that teaches we don’t need what they had. As a matter of fact, Colossians 2:12 (KJV) Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God (who is spirit), who hath raised him from the dead.

Romans 8:9 (KJV) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

And to nail down the significance of the born-again message presented in John 3:5 and Acts 2:38.

1 Corinthians 12:3 (KJV) Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

There have been attempts to discredit the word of God making it of no affect, but the word will stand when man can’t because God established at creation everything we survey today it will not return to him void, hence Isaiah’s words, my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void.

I think it fair to say the vast majority of Christianity in America justifies not taking that same step the Apostles did about being born again of the water and spirit as Jesus commanded found in John 3rd chapter and enforced on the day of Pentecost Acts 2:38 misuses the bible through denial fulfilling the lust of the flesh.

They do this by contending 1 Corinthians 13:10 (KJV) means we don’t need the Holy Ghost and spiritual gifts today because we have the bible. They teach; But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away this is talking about the bible but it is not. This verse of scripture is talking about the second coming of Jesus Christ. Besides there are many ways to prove this is erroneous teaching but I’ll limit it to two.

Notice the two words, “that which” in the verse; is that the bible or the in the flesh Jesus Christ? Upon further review I find used in the same exact context those two words “that which” is used. When Jesus was about to be born the angel said “that which” is born of thee is of the Holy Ghost. Did Mary have a bible? I don’t think so.

The other example I use is what you see in America. It has been said there are over 200 different doctrines. This is directly the reason for the confusion about Christianity. The fact the Lord chose the foolishness of preaching to save them which are lost has to an extent been turned on its head by Satan and is responsible for the falling away today.

No one is excused because we are taught by the bible seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. Pray and study to make yourself ready. But it also says many are called but few are chosen and few there be that find it.

Let’s be clear about one important thing, when it comes to God’s word, God is a spirit and his word is inspired by God meaning it is spiritual. 2 Peter 1:21 (KJV) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Jesus said, the words that I speak are spirit John 6:63 and the Apostle harmonized this saying with it is to be spiritually discerned. He gave us the reason it is to be spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV) But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

I said all that to make the point we can’t rely only on the word because…2 Corinthians 3:6 (KJV) Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

NOTE: How does one go from faith to faith as the bible teaches? He reads and then experiences in the spirit what the word teaches, is the short answer. This man/woman does it the right way. Seeking God’s knowledge and understanding and not our own as per the scripture.

Proverbs 3:5-7 (KJV) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

He/she does this knowing a certain fact they learned from David a man after God’s own heart that learned the hard way but always landed back on his feet, hence the man after God’s own heart. Finally, he learned something about God he hadn’t learned previously.

Isaiah 55:8-11 (KJV) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

This flat out tells us to seek his knowledge and understanding and do not rely only on ours.

Jesus Christ reinforced letting everyone know that reads the bible he has the Apostle’s back, so follow after Apostolic Doctrine.

Matthew 16:15-19 (KJV) He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

This dissension among the so-called Christian world here in America is the one flaw our founding fathers made in coming to a compromise with bringing forth the Constitution IMO. They settled the religious issue by making all religions on an equal basis. However, what gets lost in this conversation is their many writings by the founding fathers touting Christianity as what the Constitution is based on.

John Adams signer of the Declaration of Independence, a judge, diplomat, signer of the Bill of Rights, and second President of the United States

“The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.”

The result is every kind of religion imaginable to man can be found right here in America. America gets the credit for taking the gospel message to the world but my question is what gospel?

The Apostles had to deal with the same issue, so it is not a new thing. For instance: 1 Corinthians 14:26 (KJV) How is it then, brethren? When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. Also, he identified the false teachers. Romans 10:2-4 (KJV) For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

The end result for these is not good. Proverbs 1:31-32 (KJV) Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. Why? It is because God did appeal to them but they refused and went about their own way in essence making themselves their own god.

Proverbs 1:23-30 (KJV) Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

In the process confusion abounds about what is right and wrong about teaching the gospel message. God is not the author of confusion, Satan gets that award. What it boils down to is according to the bible which is inspired by God, there is only one gospel and one Christ not many.

Galatians 1:8 (KJV) But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

2 Corinthians 11:4 (KJV) For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
