This spring about 4 million college students will graduate and begin to take up their place in our communities and in our churches. All across the country about 17% of the population will have a college degree. How has and how is this better educated generation affecting church life? Theologically? Organizationally? How is it changing the conversation in our small groups, in our world view and how we think about science? Here in the south we have always harbored a deep suspicion about higher education and especially if we suspect that the information has come from north of the mason/dixon line. At the same time we spend big money to see that our own kids get those degrees so that they can make the big money. How do you evaluate our new world?
