What does Good Friday symbolize? Many essential and none essential businesses are closing to celebrate Good Friday.
Question: To celebrate His life. Would Jesus have suggested closing most of the economy’s businesses or resources that people might need to help them on Good Friday? ?
Genesis 2:1-2
In my opinion there is no evident that Jesus would require businesses to close. He had a confrontation with the pharisees about healing on the Sabbath.
Chik Fil A seems to do just fine shutting down one day a week. Our economy would be just fine if everyone closed down for one day a year. I don’t see any evidence Jesus requires closures on Good Friday but it’s not a bad idea.
I’m not sure Jesus would have an opinion on private businesses closing or opening. His priority seems to always be the Church and when it comes to human institutions give unto Ceasar what is Ceasars.
It’s the grieving for the crucification of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Why, would Jesus celebrate His life? Which was given as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin. Gave mankind 6000 then when the 6000 years are complete He will finish what He started. Judge mankind.
Well if you were there was nothing good about it, he was beaten to within an inch of His life, and He has spikes nailed through His hands and feet, placed on the cross after He had to carry it to the top of the hill, and then go through one of the most horrible deaths a person could go through, so no it was not Good Friday for Him
There is only one day in the NT church that we are to celebrate … The Lords day

The Bible does not say any thing about Christmas, Goodfriday or Easter Monday. Commemoration of such days is not mandated in the Bible.
