What does it mean to be a disciple of Christ?

Someone who is willing to be conformed to his image. But his image is that of an individual creator. Every believer manifests a variation of a unique call for Christ. It’s not just preaching the gospel because everyone has been allocated a unique set of talents and gifts in the ministry of edification for the body. This is a complex question.

A disciple of Christ must have the qualities of Matthew 5:3-10. A disciple of Christ must deny their life and choose His life. A disciple of Christ must carry their own cross. A disciple of Christ must desire to grow in Agape love

Follower or student of Christ.

Dying to yourself daily and bearing your cross to follow Him. There’s so much more but I feel as though that’s a general summation.

We often equate a disciple as a student. Typically, a student desires the knowledge of the teacher. That’s right, yet it go further.
In Hebrew, the word disciple is talmid (singular) or talmidim (plural). From the Jewish perspective a talmid is one who not only desires to know what the teacher or rabbi knows, but he desires to be what the rabbi is. A disciple has the passionate commitment to know what he knows, to act like he acts, to have his Godly character, to be like the teacher.
Our teacher, our rabbi is Jesus. And as a disciple of Christ, we are to be like Him, be Christ like, with the same passionate commitment.
