  4. Larry Koester says:

Scripture impliez both, but rememver there is both soul and body involved wbi h are reunited on the last day, ht tot the body that id a long ways away for the so it may be instanttaneous but there are many theories as to the timing of events.

  5. Josh Thompson says:

    Both sound fun.

  6. Elizabeth Ann Nachtigall says:

I believe we will immediately be in paradise. The verse that comes to my mind when I say this is when Jesus says “today you will be with Me in paradise”

  7. Bryan Elliott says:

The story of Lazarus is pretty compelling. It is from Jesus’ perspective telling it and he says the dead go to Abraham’s side in Paradise, where he says the crucified criminal will be with him, or to Torment (Tartarus). These are both part of Hades/Sheol where the ddead await resurrection unto judgement. The righteous will enter eternal life in heaven and the unrighteous will enter eternal torment in gehenna the lake of fire.
However, there is also the argument of the multitude in heaven from Revelation combined with “he led a band of captives on high.” This would say that those beyond the fixed chasm are now free to run to the throne room in heaven. Only thing about that is I’m not sure how Revelation would fit as a timeline because it is a vision.
    Thoughts?

  8. Thato Masiu says:

Neither. We await the second coming of our Almighty God

  9. Brandon Lawes says:

    2 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV)
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

  10. K.T. Josaphat says:

According bible the spirit will be in paradise and the body will in where they were buried (deep sleep). The rapture( who are death in Christ) read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.
The rapture is first( only in the cloud) belivers and the death in christ will rise and meet there. and latter the second coming of christ as a king on earth.

  11. Clive Samuels says:

You soul goes to Heaven if you are a Christian. To Hellfire forever if you are not.

The Bible says “absent from the body present with the Lord”:

  17. Janren Sarah Macaraig says:

We are a tripartite being: spirit, soul and body (1Thess. 5:23) . When a believer dies, his spirit will come back to Jesus, the soul will be asleep and our body will decay (Ecc. 12:7, Dan. 12:2). At the rapture, our soul will be raised up again and will be united with our spirit and God will give us an incorruptible body, a sinless body which can stand God’s presence (1Cor. 15:51-55). Only then can we come to heaven as the Bible says no one has yet ascended to heaven except Jesus (John 3:13).

  18. Rick Holtsclaw says:

The Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul tells us that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord if one has trusted in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

  19. Rwasande Godfrey says:

When someone dies he goes to place of hades/shio(hades is not hell) where your spirit is disembodied from the body. The same place where Jesus had gone to preach when he died on the cross to those who drowned in Noah’s flood and later after three days God gave him new body and we too. No one is in hell yet because Jesus has not seated on his judgement throne

  20. Ed Lepkowicz says:

Assuming you were on the narrow path, paradise. If on the wide path, to the abode of the dead.

So sad. All these so called Christians are wrong

  25. Ralph Edwards II says:

As soon as we die we stand before Christ immediately.

2 Corinthians 5:1-8 5 For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven, inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked. For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life. Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge. Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—for we walk by faith, not by sight— we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

  26. Ian Hartley says:

2 Cor 5:8. To live is Christ, to die is Gain. Phil 1:21 KJV.

  27. Ron DeFluiter says:

Jesus said the reward of eternal life is given to every man at the second coming. see Rev. 22:12. Also Paul said in 1 cor. 15:22,23,51-53 that christians receive eternal or immortality at Christ second coming. He called death a sleep, vs 51 and does not teach that one is”present with the Lord until the resurrection”.

  28. Greg Barolet says:

  33. Von Peery says:

We die. We stay dead until the resurrection at Christ’s second coming. See Peter’s description of David in Acts 2. Read Paul’s affirmation to the Thessalonians in 1 Thess 4:13-18 (not that their deceased loved one’s were already in heaven but that they would one day be resurrected.)

  34. Burutolu Dauemi Roy says:

It just like asking what will i dream about wen we sleep

  35. Lawrence Solomon says:

  36. Anthony Ajon Tan says:

The parable of Lazarus and the rich man, found only in the gospel of Luke 16:19-3 . The Lord Jesus spoke of this parable….

All people go to Sheol after death. Death is a state of sleep.

  38. Mike Cresswell says:

Jesus said to thief on the cross ‘this day you will enter paradise with me.’

  39. Walter Pastor Falcon says:

What i think the thing we need to need to think about with this question is heaven being outside of time. The bible seas this But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
II Peter 3:8 NKJV I do believe that when we die we are immediately ushered into the presence of God in r mind but in a human’s point of view of time that ushering is not until the end of time or untill after at least the rapture. But they are one and the same.
