The Bible is full of historical examples.

  2. Mark August says:

He was begotten in the beginning and was God at that time (see jn 1:1). Prior to being enunciated He was the Wisdom of God, like a thought unexpressed in the Mind of the Thinker.

Are some of these questions to see if we are paying attention

  11. John Kalmikov says:

Inside the Bible are many verses as stated above. Historically outside the Bible are Josephus and many other historians who wrote about Jesus as a man on earth.

  12. Anthony Rowden says:

Like what’s the historical basis that he was who he said he was (God)? Probably the fact that God raised him from the dead vindicating Jesus’ teachings. Here’s a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mc6XhMySxdY

  13. Sean Conley says:

  21. GS Leszyk says:

There are over 300 different prophecies in the Old Testament that point to Jesus birth as the fulfillment of the coming of the Son of God! Not to mention his personal claims and statements and miracles performed. And the hundreds of witnesses that saw him after HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD.

    The first chapter of John.

  23. Pedro Zepeda says:

Well if you lool at the evidence that Jesus showed us(in the Gospels) especially the evidence for the resurrection than we can conclude that Jesus was who he said he was, God.

  25. William Garcia says:

In the parables of the prodigal son, the woman who lost her coin and the good shepard, Jesus is referring to the Books of Isaiah and Habakuk to say he is the good shepard, the gracious host, and the loving father.

  26. Summer Charles says:

First century disciples were all martyrs if Jesus was not who he claims to be they wouldn’t have paid it with their life. They knew what they were believing in that’s why they died for it and write it too.

    Genesis 1 talk about Jesus

  28. Floyd Vaz says:

The historical basis of Jesus’existence? If you mean pre-earth existence – there is none except the things Jesus said about himself. Which, if you think about it, is pretty much exactly how it would be unless God wanted to make it different Jesus’ existence here on Earth is pretty well documented. Not just by one person but by many and none contradicting the accounts and claims. Also, reasonable to expect from the history recording evidence capability of that day. Finally, Jesus’ post-earth existence beyond the book of Revelation is something we can only speculate on. He spoke of His coming again and there is no reason to believe otherwise. This, to me, keeps up the joy and anticipated excitement in every true believers heart across the ages. But, if it does not happen in our lifetime here on earth, we are promised things ‘that no eye has seen’ nor ‘no ear has heard’ as to what immediately awaits us on the other side. Either way, I have no words to describe it. History can’t describe what it hasn’t seen. Yet, the author of all history will accomplish what He set out to do even before the creation of the world – Keep watching history is being unraveled and accomplished by the day – there was never a time in all of history when Jesus was never God.

Is Yeshua (Jesus) not your Lord and your God? Thomas, who put his own hand in Yeshua’s wound, called Him that. Do you?

  44. Paul Wanson says:

He wasn’t “a” god, He is God! In terms of historical evidence, there are many proofs: empty tomb for one; the rapid spread of Christianity by His disciples (His disciples would not have died for a lie; they would not have left Judaism, per se, to start preaching/teaching that Jesus is God and is the only means to salvation).

The proofs are numerous, I only gave two!

Great book on this is “Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus” by Qureshi, and his follow-on “No God But One.” Lots of info, both are very well written.

  49. Mobin Mathew says:

There are great scholars who have defended the resurrection of Jesus (miracle) as a historical event. Usually in a debate/presentation style they present the key facts about Jesus accepted/agreed by the majority of new testament historians as true. Then they seek to establish the the best possible explanation of those facts.
Have a look on YouTube. William Lane Craig and J Warner Wallace are probably good starting points.

  50. Chris Lindsay says:

As purely historical sources, the gospels attest to Jesus’ existence and ministry in which he claimed to be the divine son of god. After he was killed, his tomb was found empty, various individuals and groups experienced postmortem appearances of Jesus, and his disciples suddenly came to believe he was raised from the dead. These are three historical facts most NT scholars attest to. That God raised Jesus from the dead is the best explanation of those facts. So if God raised Jesus after Jesus spent his ministry claiming to be divine, then God confirmed Jesus’ divinity.
