When Paul writes to the Gentiles in the book of Romans 3:31
Do we then overthrow the law because of this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

Paul says that the law is not nullified by faith but fulfilled. For its status is confirmed when faith bears witness that what it said would come has actually happened. Paul says this because of the Jews who thought that faith in Christ was inimical to the law because they did not understand the true meaning of the law. For Paul does not nullify the law when he says that it must come to an end, because he asserts that at the time it was given it was rightly given, but now it does not have to be kept any longer. In the law itself it is said that a time would come when the promise would be fulfilled and the law would no longer have to be kept…. “Behold the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers.”

Paul’s use of the word uphold shows that the law was failing…. The purpose of the law was to make man righteous, but it had no power to do that. But when faith came it achieved what the law could not do, for once a man believes he is immediately justified. Faith therefore established what the law intended and brought to fulfillment what its provisions aimed for. Consequently faith has not abolished the law but perfected it.

NOTE: The old testament refers to Mosaic law,
??ONE law: singular is expressed in the old testament, but now that is purposelychanged in the New Testament (after the cross, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ) to plural law??s of LOVE which is the finest of the law:

Matthew 22:36–39
Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt ?love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt? love thy neighbour as thyself.
THE NEW COMMANDS ?? are NOT to be confused with the commandments of the law God gave to Moses!
The laws (commands) of love under GRACE (given by Jesus) which are superior laws to the old law under Moses and are written on our hearts & minds after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ who fulfilled the law for ALL mankind!
⚖️Truth: God‘s law still is good and remains in HIS economy. But the purpose of the law was to function as a “tutor” to reveal to unrighteous mankind that he is condemned underneath it! That is why it’s referred to as a?? ministry of condemnation & death and functions to lead the unrighteous man from the bondage of Sin and death under the law of Moses ??to the laws of Jesus Christ. Which simply is, love, for
“Love covers a multitude of sins

Our love is incorruptible because God deposits an ??incorruptible seed of love inside of us when we are born into the body of Christ—so we love God no matter what! Why? Because HE FIRST loved us!
The new covenant is love ??under GRACE, NOT LAW!
We are a NEW creation in Jesus Christ and we now as believers (reborn in the kingdom of God) so now, we (born again believers)want what God wants, which is LOVE!
Therefore, our goal is to know Christ in ALL things! If we know Christ, then we know love. If we know love, then we know Christ!

?THE word, “Sabbath” is from the Hebrew verb shabbat, meaning “to REST from labor”; the day of rest).
Jesus Christ is the NEW Sabbath, hence, we are to rest in HIM! We can honor him on Saturday or Sunday or on every day of the week!! This is not about legalism but about worship of our Savior in SPIRIT and TRUTH!

It says we dont forget where we come from and all the positive aspects of the past which actually make us prosper and civilize ourselfs, but contrary take the best ideas of the past bring them forward and instill love patience kindness to the law….
Paul wasn’t written to gentiles in Romans 3:31 he was addressing jews
Sure. We uphold the law by giving God what He wants vs works. The law was given for the purpose of showing mankind we need a Saviour.
We can’t uphold the law by our selves if we wanted to …. So by our faith and the power of the Holy Ghost we are able to uphold the law

Is not Christ who fulfilled the Law?

The bascis for humans is that they can’t or shouldn‘t live a lawless life. Law is still a life guiding force for everyone, believer or unbeliever alike. However Law can‘t distinguish a believer (God‘s Elect) from an unbeliever. Law thus cannot serve as a standard to save humans. Thus with Jesus, humans will be judged by their faith, such that the saved can be told apart from the unsaved by a stansard which is defined in the new covenant. It by no means says that you don‘t need to obey Law. Obeying Law is not the way how one is saved though.
Paul says Gentiles are not under law.
For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law; for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified. For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves,

Roman’s 3:31 is to jews
We have free will power but we submit to God’s law of love. That’s what makes faith in Christ true.
The purpose of the law was to reveal sin, in fact to increase sin to make it more visible. When the Jewish people broke the law their faith in the law to make then righteous before God should have been broken. For when they failed to keep the law they then had to go and put their faith in the blood of a lamb to cover their sin so that none of the curses described by the law would come upon them. Paul is saying here that the law is upheld because it was a means to bring them to have faith in the lambs blood a picture of Jesus the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
