When The Lord speaks to you personally I know it’s supposed to be confirmed in his word… but should it be like that all the time ?????. I know he can speak through his spirit dreams etc … I guess what I’m trying to say should we test it every single time ??

Read Hebrews 1 where it states in the past God spoke through those other means but now He has spoke through Jesus. Therefore Jesus is the culmination of all revelation and as such nothing else need be said.

No, unless it contradicts His word. Some prophetic dreams are warnings, others are perhaps revelations about some wrong motives that you may have that require correction from your part, other dreams are promises of healing that need your obedience in a certain area to bring it to pass, other dreams may be prophetic promises about events that will take place in the future, in your home life,, etc.
As an example, I had a dream where I was a solider that was reporting for duty.
My commander in chief told me to go to the sickbay and command the sick soldiers to follow me and take them to the infirmary. As I obeyed, I went to the sickbay and called out at the top of my voice: attention! with all given authority I had. All the soldiers stood up even though they were been bedridden. I remember one of them was laying on a top bunk and was turning over because of pain. Then I said to all of them, “follow me!” When I marched with them, I turned the corner in the direction of the infirmary when I saw a bright intense yellow light waiting for them. End of dream.
Don’t listen to ignorant Christians who don’t know how to listen to the Spirit of God. -
It depends on what exactly He is speaking to you about. I was praying for Gods will on someone and was very specific and asked Him if it’s not His will this person and I to further our relationship that we’d not be on the same page. Guess what? Immediately we had a talk and weren’t on the same page. The same person, I prayed that God would remove them if they were gonna be a hinder to me in my walk and the next day I found out the dude blocked me from things. This person caused a lot of confusion and mixed emotions and feelings. Bringing this back, we know in scripture that God isn’t a God of confusion and He’s a God of order, so testing this with scripture, this was some that clearly wasn’t beneficial for me and not of God. God speaks to us in other ways, an impression on our heart, certain ways to get our attention, but the most practical way and most important way is directly through His word and YES, test it all of the time.

Maybe your talking about gift of decernment but not audible Holy spirit sometimes guides us to decern something and all of that will agree not contradict His word.

I’ve seen a lot of “God told me this” and “God told me that” and a lot of times it never aligned with scripture. I would never limit God but the abuse of Charismatic churches that would use their false narratives with the “God told me” showed me a great deal of how many people were deceived.

You should learn to know the voice of the Lord!

God would never contradict Himself. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a feeling, a sign, a dream, a vision, or an audible voice; if it doesn’t line up with Scripture, it’s not from God.

The scriptures hold a high priority in the christisn life ; and should always be considered. Howecere , when it comes to ur personnel life and thise things that pertain to it , i see know reason why u need to hold up the word for a confirmation . The revelation God sends to u is ur own . If u have doubts then seek more direction or guidance crom the spirit . It ok if u have doubts , keep asking until u r convinced that it is from God . Cinsult the story of Gidean.

Yes… test every time. He who begins the good work has promised to bring it to a successful completion. He is both the Author and perfecter of our faith. I have learned over the years to test every voice by holding every thought captive to Christ. We will find verification in the scriptures for all that is of God in us and correction of any wayward thoughts. Don’t need a preacher for this. It is never Christ “in another” the hope of glory… but Christ “in us”. Freedom…

We cannot kid ourselves. Our own subconscient also can trick us. When we are thinking a lot about something, we may sometimes have all kinds of ideas through dreams or visions or even day dreaming or hallucinations. Before we trust that it comes from God, we must pray and test the content with Scripture and pray for God to provide confirmation.

1. You are HIS sheep, you WILL know his voice. You can tell his voice apart. His and only his gives peace.
2a. New-Revelation-on-his word-voice: Perhaps a new angle or a fresh perspective. The scripture then is your benchmark.
2b. Does it change Salvation’s criteria – that is ‘Jesus’, and not ‘Jesus +’?
If yes, go back a few steps in your study and see what lead you here. That junction can always be explained away by other parts of scripture.2c. Logic can also be applied because Father is a very logical person. Also, the root word for logic is Word (Logos).
For example, ‘Does God lie?’ No, therefore this new biblical idea is false.2d. Any good works can come out this since His Word is profitable… to produce good works?
2e. Is there Love? Without it all is nothing.
3.Non-Revelation-on-the-word-voice. That means, for example a voice or a thought comes to you and say “No, don’t take this lane”. Or “See the lady over there? Go speak with “.
Again, will you be at peace? Will what you enjoy to say and do go against the Bible. Is it logical? Is this a good work? Do I love?

God is speaking to us all the time.. We are the ones not listening.. That’s why God is personal. He speaks by his very quiet and gentle voice. I asked God for example, i wanted to buy this particular car, and the voice of the lord in my heart said, wait. Iknow what you need, it will come. Eight weeks later, i got exactly the car i needed and at a very cheap price of $6 grand. God wants us to talk to him about every detail of our life. Sometimes the answer takes years to come, but you need to wait .

I was lying awake in bed last week troubled by the recent heavy rains and all that night destroying the hard work I had done in my garden. Then in my head came the thought about Elijah and the Priests of Baal in I Kings 18:20-40. The priests of Baal could not get their god to send fire to burn the sacrifice on their altar. Elijah’s sacrifice and altar were prepared and water drenched on it time and again. Then just when it looked impossible to burn God sent fire and consumed the sacrifice and altar.
I believe God sent me that thought in the midst of heavy rain and a drenched garden. Certainly this is not a passage I have ever thought about much.
This was an excellent lesson for me. I was troubled that my work was being destroyed when it was not my work at all but His. I plant and He gives the increase. He deserves the glory, not me. -
Yes, he can reach you however he needs or wants. He reached me through a dream using bible verses as well lol. Also, he can let you know when he wants you specifically to stop something (like eating meat, or avoiding movies). Those are more relationship specific between you and him

God has a way of confirming what he is saying. He will repeat the message in different ways to convince you. You will know his voice and understanding.

Jesus speaks to me every single day. He speaks to me through others. He speaks to me through songs. And every single time that He speaks, He speaks His word.
So every day I read His word, when others read the Bible or give me a verse to read and through songs that have scripture in them. -

You’ll know if the Spirit is speaking to you. I always compare it to being like walking down a dark lane, you get the sense of being creeped out. As opposed to helping a little old lady across the Street. The Spirit will act like a moral compass for you. You’ll know in your spirit if it is from God or not. If it isn’t, you’ll find yourself trying to talk yourself INTO IT. as opposed to having a calm and peaceful revelation of the same.

Lord spoke to me once. I was looking into the eclipse in 2017 and read an article that the width of the path of totality was 70 miles wide and about 173,000 square miles. That number reminded me of Daniel’s 69th week prophecy of the coming messiah (69 weeks x 7 years x 360 days = 173,880 days). God told me, through a strong feeling, to measure the distance from the beginning of the eclipse to end. I looked up on NASA’s website and saw it began in Lincoln Beach, OR and ended in Charleston, SC. So, I opened up Google maps and measured and it came out to be 2484 miles long. (2484 miles x 70 miles wide = 173,880 square miles ?). Began digging more and discovered that the path of the totality of eclipse went through a bunch of states with a city named “Salem”. Think of Melchizedek, “the King of Salem”. The general consensus is that Jesus died at the age of 33. Oregon is the 33rd state. The center point of the eclipse, at the end is exactly on the 33rd parallel. The beginning of the end was at 2:48pm and the end of the lunar shadow was 4:09pm. Remember the length 2484? Matches the times 2:48 4:09, with the 9 at the end which means judgement. Beginning of the end, get it? Also, 33 days after the eclipse was the Rev 12 sign on Sept 23rd. Just prior to that were the 2 hurricanes, Jose (Joseph) and Maria (Mary). It all points to Jesus

Peter felt deeply in his heart that Jesus was in danger and he was lead by his emotions to make Jesus not go to Jerusalem. Peter insisted so much for Jesus not to go that Jesus had to rebuke him and even said : ” go away Satan”….
Some times we mean well in our hearts and we may be right about certain things. That doesn’t mean that it is aligned with God’s will. This is why Scripture says that in the Last Days even Christian’s will beleive the anti christ because he is a deceiver. Satan uses our emotions and our environment to persuade our emotions and ideas. We must always be aware of this and recognize that we are humans. We must not let emotions lead us. We must be able to identify when God is moving us and when Not… if we don’t truly follow God’s will, there are bad consequences.Read The book of Acts and the stories about Paul’s missionary travels. He knew in his heart God was moving Him to preach the Gospel in Asia minor and Europe, but He didn’t know the specific steps. But God did. So you see in his story that the Holy Spirit kept guiding him and setting up where he should go, where to stay and who to speak to. It was all in God’s strategy.

I guess the general principle would be that what you dream or hear shouldn’t run contrary to the principles and beliefs of the bible. There are a few examples e.g. Abraham offering Isaac that would seem to run contrary to understood wisdom but in the main it should be consistent
