Who is Melchizedek? I understand that He is the Holy Spirit?
Who is Melchizedek? I understand that He is the Holy Spirit?
Jesus
It???
He was a man like you and me, but was representative of Christ.
He was a historical person who Abraham showed his respect to. He is viewed as a type of Christ. He was not Jesus or the Holy Spirit. I have more information on him, just not on me right now.
I am really curious, why do you think so?
A righteous king of salem in the spiritual lineage of Noah
This is the first time I’ve heard anyone say Melchizedek was the Holy Spirit. I’ve heard the Christophany theory, which then I guess you could take a stance from there.
I think the most interesting theory is that he was Shem.
We really don’t know for sure
I’ve never heard that before.
Im sorry but that is not it.
?
An actual person that taught Abraham. A non-Jewish man that Abraham paid tithes to and that only happens when someone teaches them.
It will be the same in the Millennial Kingdom. The church age believers will be teaching the Jewish people what happened during the Church Age. They will realize they need Christ and will choose to believe or not.
M was a priest in the days of Abraham. He is a type of Christ, not the HS
No one really knows for sure. But He was used as an example of Christ.
Its a Priest order which holds a covenant outside that which was established with Abraham or Moses. Jesus Christ is the High Priest of the Order of Melchizedek which sits at the right hand of God forever. Abram paid tribute to a priest of this order in Genesis (I think he was still Abram at the time) and was blessed by him. The Apostle Paul wrote on this, in regard to how Christ is the High Priest of the Order of Melchizedek.
No. A priest who spoke to Abraham. He is a type
I’ve thought the idea of him being Zoroaster would be intriguing…. But time, and especially place make it unlikely, and in light of Hebrews, really improbable.
The Holy Spirit is God in trinity or the Godhead. God the Father, God the Son, God the HS. As a follower and believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, his death and resurrection, the Holy Spirit is given to you. There is no fire or big episode as that didn’t happen to me and in the bible fire actually means judgement and refinement.
Happy to private message anyone who disagrees or want to talk further as fire can be a controversial subject.
You can read about Melchizedek in Genesis and Hebrews.
Theres some people who hold the view that Melchizedek was a Christophany. At the very least its an example foreshadowing the coming high priest Jesus Christ.
Where in the world are you coming up with this?
He was a king of Ealem and a priest. He is a type of the Christ but he not Christ nor is he the Holy Spirit
.
Have read the view that he was Shem.
There is a new cult emerging in India called “Emperor Emmanuel” Church. They have this kind of errenious teachings like Name of the Father is Jesus; name of Christ is Emmanuel and the name of the Holy Spirit is Melchisedek. ?????
The Bible doesn’t say that he is Holy Spirit.
No way!
He is the pre-incarnate Christ
I have never read in the Bible that Holy spirit appears in the forms of man.
Whaaaaattttt????? You can see the Holy Spirit????
.
No. I have no idea where you got that notion.
No. Try Shem or Arphaxad
He was a human manifestation of God… sort of like a pre incarnate christ
No. He is not the Holy
Spirit or a Theophany. He is the Priest that spoke to Abraham in Genesis 14. He also has the priesthood through which Christ comes through (Psalms 110:4)
That’s the kind of question I ask when I don’t want to watch a 3 hr movie.
He was a king and a priest. Jesus is the only other king and priest. Melchizedek is a type of Jesus.
He was the King of Salam during the time of Abraham. He was also the Priest of the Most High God.
He was NOT Shem, NOT the Holy Spirit, NOT Jesus.
no , he was personified , I believe he was a king .
Back up, study Theophanies and Christophanies in old testament.
Melchizedek is a very interesting study. Some say he was the preincarnet Christ, others say he was a person like Christ. He has many characteristics like Christ. What I do know is that he was the king of Salem, which if I remember correctly later became Jerusalem. He was the king and he was also the high priest of Salem. So, in one person we have both church and state.
After Moses wrote the Law, church and state were separated. The state or government came from the tribe of Judah. The church or priesthood came from the Levites. All other nations church and state were combined, the government ran the church. This was the status quo until America came into existence.
But I transgress, during the first coming of Jesus, He establishes His church. During His second coming He will establish His government. Jesus is our high priest and king. In Him church and state will be combined, just as it was with Melchizedek.
Never heard that
High priest
No a High Priest.
Holy Spirit is God and not man ?
Nope.. he’s not
He’s a type of Christ
He is Christ….
He was a king and a priest for people in z ancient near east.
You must had read your bible upside down, dude!
No not at all.
Melchizedek was a divine person.
Melvin, you must be out of your mind !
Spiritual: typology of Jesus
He is,just a person.
He’s undercover God to Abraham.
He most certainly is.
He’s Christ!
A High Priest
Never heard that before.
This is how I believe: He is a man from the future, coming back, to check the loyalty of Abraham.
There is only one like Him who is a high priest and also called the King of kings. You know it who?
Another clue; His reign has no beginning nor an end.
There are three interpretations. He is not HS
King of Righteousness. A notable prophet and leader who lived about 2000 B.C. He is called the king of Salem (Jerusalem), king of peace, and “priest of the most High God.”
I think Jesus
Genesis ch 14. He meets Abraham. He was a Priest and a King (just as Jesus is). He is an old Testament incarnation of Jesus. He Also has bread and wine (a picture of the lords supper) with Abraham. There are lots of times Jesus appears in the Old Testament… it’s a wonderful study ??
The Holy Spirit? That’s God!
[…] Who is Melchizedek? I understand that He is the Holy… […]
