Why wouldn’t baptism be a necessity if it was mentioned in the Bible. some believe that it’s not a necessity for salvation.

Is the wedding ring necessary to be married. No, it’s a symbol of the unending love between the husband and the wife. The same is true with baptism. It’s an outward symbol expressing what happened inwardly when we receive Christ as our savior.

Anyone who thinks water is required to wash our sins away, explain this to me…

1 Corinthians 1:17Paul says baptism is not required. Nobody thinks Paul went around sharing the Gospel and then saying, “now this Gospel won’t work until you get water baptised, and i won’t do it, so before you can get saved you’ll have to go find someone else to baptise you.”

That’s because most people don’t understand the scriptures and turn every passage in wich they see the word ‘baptism’ into “waterbaptism”
John the Baptist baptised in water, Jesus baptises in spirit and fire.

Physical baptism isn’t required but spiritual indwelling of the Holy Spirit which come upon faith is. Physical baptism is a symbolic act of that inner change. (A Catholic would see the act of physical baptism as necessary and more mystical in nature.)
I’m not saying you necessarily needs signs of the spiritual baptism just that true faith is necessary. So if you come to Faith and suddenly die you don’t need a bucket of water to be through on your corpse.

First of all, baptism was commanded by Jesus Matthew 28:19
All true believers are commanded to be baptized in the name of the Father the Son and The Holy Spirit.
Is step of obedience for us to identify with our Master and Lord Jesus Christ.
Baptism can’t save people from their sins. It can clean the dirty on our bodies. But it cannot removed sin. Only by faith in Christ alone we can be save from sin and from punishment of it.

It is not a necessity for salvation. Once you accept Christ the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you. Jesus says to be baptized to show publicly you identify with Him and that your sins are washed away. If you die before getti g baptized you will go to heaven like the thief on the cross.

Exactly. A woman raised in a Muslim family, who finds the courage to witness to them … And is then stoned, before she can be dunked? Shes going to hell? Nah, dont think so. We are saved by grace through faith, lest any man should boast. In this case about his outward expression of his faith ?

It’s not necessary for salvation. For example people accepting Christ on their death bed but Jesus did do it as an example even though He was without sin.
We need to do it as a step of obedience that signifies our new life in Christ & as a public confession of faith.
You know when Jesus was baptized the Holy Spirit came down upon Him.
Also the thief on the cross was never baptized either. -
Water baptism has no spiritual value. Only Holy Spirit baptism has value.

Water baptism is obedience of faith. God wants us to do it, so we do it. Plus, its a public declaration of being born again. Being a new person. Like Marriage, you are together already and have the relationship before you wed.

Jesus is the ONLY one needed for salvation. Baptism is an self- expression to show the world that you belong to Christ. It is an outward expression of an inward experience. Baptism is not needed for salvation. Baptism is proof to unbelievers that you are a Christian. Anyone who tells you you need to be baptised to be saved are adding to what Jesus did on the cross. Salvation is a FREE gift of God. IT IS FREE. YOU DO NOT need to do anything. CHRIST did it. You show your love for Christ by illustrating that you are buried with HIm and raised to new life. IT DOES NOT save you. JESUS did that. Baptism is an expression that you are already saved. That is the truth.

My mother baptized me as a child. I’ve never had a formal baptism. I’ve moved a lot and always been to very large mega churches where baptism wasn’t as intimate as I would have liked. Do I want to have a formal baptism? Yes. Do I feel like it will keep me out of Heaven without it? No. Again, legalism is wrong. Jesus came to fulfill the law.

When we say baptism is necessary, it doesn’t mean that baptism is what is saving you. No, only the Messiah YAHSHUA saves. But baptism is part of the process to salvation. Eg. For one to be save he had to Repent, believe in the Messiah, confess is Lordship and submit for baptism. That’s it.

Baptism is a command, yes. But anyone who studies God’s Word, and can discern Holy Scripture (meaning understands how it works and how it doesn’t contradict itself), and has half a brain knows it is not absolutely necessary to be saved! You have to stretch verses and twist the Greek to believe otherwise. LOL!!! Please stop spreading such heresies. God does not need our help to save us. We do not save ourselves!

Here, Jesus said in His own words that this lady was saved purely by her faith.Nobody dunked her in water, but she showed incredible pure love for Jesus and only He can judge someone’s heart. We do not know the hearts of men, but He does. Same with the thief on the cross that defended Christ. His faith in God saved him, just like Romans 10:9 says !

If it was NECESSARY for salvation then the baptism would be your Savior and not Christ. The only necessary commitment is belief/acceptance of His sacrifice.

There is NO water baptism in the

What Baptism can do to you, when you don’t accept Christ as Lord and savior, and you undertake it for just religion and tradition purpose, and if that is so important why Jesus not tell to the thief beside him to be baptize first before I bring you to paradise.

Too many men are looking to a thief for salvation rather than to Jesus Christ. Appealing to the “Thief on the Cross” is probably the lamest excuse around.
1. Those trying to dodge Jesus’ Lordship have no evidence that the thief was NOT baptized.
— the whole area was turning out for John’s baptism, and then Jesus was baptizing even more disciples than John.
— the thief sure seemed to know an awful lot about Jesus, and the resurrection, as well as the kingdom.2. Gospel baptism is into the DEATH, BURIAL, AND RESURRECTION. Jesus was not yet dead, let alone buried or raised. Even IF this was merely a big favor Jesus chose to grant… it has no bearing on anyone’s obedience today, especially since Pentecost.
Just follow the bible pattern as written and you’ll be a friend of Jesus! REPENT AND BE IMMERSED INTO JESUS NAME FOR REMISSION OF YOUR SINS TO BE SAVED!

Ok folks this is a crazy discussion. Let me explain it this way. When you require anything other than Jesus for Salvation you devalue the Cross, you devalue the saving blood that was shed for you, you devalue the Son of God. Stop it, Jesus died for your sins.
Baptism is a beautiful rite of passage that you can participate in or not. Baptism WILL NOT SAVE YOU. Jesus will save you and only he can do that. As the we go to scripture we can find the most widely known verse John 3:16 and there is not a prerequisite to be baptized to be saved. It clearly states that the only thing needed is belief and that is faith.

Our baptism is Spiritual, not water baptism. Only Israel has water baptism.
