Apostles and their successors (anointed with the laying of the hands). Those same apostles approved the letters that later would become the New testament and denounced the heterodoxy of the early and modern age.

  6. Hilario Luisito Tan says:

God provided churches to spread the gospel of Christ in every century with quality faith among believers willing to sacrifice their lives for the gospel and never ceased to build churches as the word of God protected them from severe persecutions.

Christian faith- by believing in the resurrection of Christ, and then being killed and persecuted for preaching the Good News.
Christian religion- by all other means

Just a thought but perhaps it was not passed down and rather was lost. I mean we look at the way Christ set up his church it, had an actual structure with a prophet at the head, and Apostles and even a Seventy. Over time it seems to me that that structure was lost. And along with that the authority/priesthood was lost. Paul even references it in 2 Thessalonians 2:3

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first”

This is just one of many scriptures where it seems that the latter-days as spoken about by Daniel and other Prophets has to come only after this is a “falling away” .

And I think then it’s put nicely in Acts 3:21 that from this falling away Christ’s original gospel has to be restored.

“21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began”

Now it just comes down to the question of does the restored Church exist?

  26. Joshua Alicea says:

Apostles, to bishops (Timothy was a young bishop), to avg. everyday believers. There are still bishops today who pass down the faith. Protestant churches have pastors who go to seminary and learn how to teach the Holy scriptures. Unfortunately, some teachers just get a ministers license and go out to start churches that dont know much about the scriptures. If we as parents want to teach the scriptures to our children, we must know it ourselves.

Child Indoctrination. “Nobody would seriously describe a tiny child as a ‘Marxist child’ or an ‘Anarchist child’ or a ‘Post-modernist child’. Yet children are routinely labeled with the religion of their parents. We need to encourage people to think carefully before labeling any child too young to know their own opinions, and our adverts will help to do that.” – Richard Dawkins
