Do you think the issue that the church is facing today (especially in the so called new Reformed churches) in descipleship has been indoctrination rather than modeling?

I think alot of it is cognitive effort. They threw out alot of catholic tradition and practices that help with the internalization of the word.

What do you mean by discipleship?
    What’s a new reformed church?

I think in the online community most conversations seem to be doctrinally focused. I wouldn’t say that all indoctrination is necessarily a bad thing though. Teaching right doctrine is a Biblical imperative, many places in Scripture call for it, Romans 16:17, Titus 1:9,2:1; 2 Tim 4:2-4, etc. I think it would do us well to often remind ourselves of the old saying “ in essentials, unity; in doubtful matters, liberty; in all things, charity.”

    why does that matter.. ???

I don’t think it is either. I think churches today fail to teach discipleship, in any way. Period. This is why it is so important to find a church that teaches things like discipleship, if you can.

Yeah, what is your denomination? What year did it came to be though?

The church today is not the church God had intended it to be it’s been infiltrated and corrupted by new age gnostic doctrine.
